A leaked GameStop ad for Black Friday shows:

Swap Force Dark Editions - $79.99 (Save $20)
Swap Force Regular Editions - $49.99 (Save $25)
WiiU (white) w/ Swap Force Regular Edition - $299.99 w/ $25 GC

I'm just going to wait until then.

That's really odd as it's on their site currently with a order button. It also shows the 2 in my town as well as another 8-10 within 50 miles all have it in stock. For the Wii that is... and a quick check shows the same for PS3 and XBox. The only one that's an issue is the Wii-U with one store having stock.

Nice! I had already planned to wait and this verifies what I was hoping to see. Now it's a matter of which edition...

Wait for the walmart ad to leak. I am hoping for a $35-$40 Swapforce. Actually I just noticed the dark edition sale is only valid for the wii edition so that sale sucks.

You should also be able to get Swapfroce for $50 from TRU right now if you combine the 20% off with the $10 frito coupon. I don't know if the frito coupon expired yet though.

Looks like I'll wait until Black Friday to get Swap Force. I wonder if the Frito Lay coupon will work on top of the sale?

Absolutely. I'm really hoping for a ~$40 price point like Giants was last year. If Amazon will do that they'll get the sale unless WM has some kind of special character like they did last year with the GITD Cynder (it *was* Cynder wasn't it? I really should know 'cause I purchased the DS version from them for that reason).

No TRU close enough. Plus I totally misplaced those stinking coupons! I've turned the place upside down and still can't find them! I know I didn't toss them as I'd have kept them for possible use and/or collectibility if nothing else (not that I think they'll ever be worth anything but stranger things have happened).

I got lucky and found a Wii U set available at a store 200 miles away. They are in the same district as the ones here in town so I was able to get one of the local stores to get it transferred here.

Not sure if anyone would be interested (and it's YMMV anyway) but Meijer had all the Skylander Giants starter kits marked at $15 ea. including the WiiU version. Got the 3DS set with Red Pop Fizz for $10 after the $5 Frito coupon.

I wish I had a Meijer close. I've been watching that set at Sam's and it is down to $34.xx, but unfortunately they don't take coupons. The 360 Giants starter was down to $24.xx so I'm hoping there is another drop on the 3DS one.

This ensures that I am getting every penny back since TRUS decided to raise their prices by a dollar per figure.
I'm gonna separate it next time. When the manager had to do the $10 manually the 20% shifted from the kit to the Legendary Creeper.

Didn't catch it until later. Is it worth it to go back for the $14... I'm not sure. I don't want to haul 9 packages back into their counter.

Whoops.

So I got the Wii Starter Kit, six "new-to-Swap-Force" singles, the Legendary Grim Creeper, and Light Core Star Strike for $150.

Edit to add: I'm going to call the store on Monday morning and see what I can work out. Maybe they'll comp me a Magna Charge.

The WiiU bundle also comes with a metallic Wash Buckler variant which makes it very tempting.

Looks like I'll be doubling up on Grimm Creeper.

Wave 3 (?) Adventure Pack...
Wind Up (Tech) w/ Sheep Wreck Island, Platinum Sheep, and Groove Machine

Wave (4) Battle Arena Pack...
Arkeyan Crossbow w/ Grimm Creeper (Undead) and Thorn Horn Camo (Life)

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I got this yesterday:
Spoiler:

And these today for 27 dollars including the tax. The case is free with 25 or more of Skylanders purchase. It is a 14.99 value and is a nice bonus to offset the cost of the figures.

^I picked mine up Thursday evening.

I *still* don't understand the Target mentality of putting Nitro Magna Charge in a 2 pack, especially with figures that come in a starter!

Especially one where there's a Legendary version of Free Ranger at TRU. There's no way I'm triple dipping.

Now that being said, I'm thinking of getting the 2-pack with Rattle Shake and selling that figure for $10.

I am liking the Swap Force game more than the other two. What are your opinions on it?

Yeah, it was GITD Cynder. Walmart has nothing special for the swapforce starter pack.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I stopped in SAM's today (getting gas so why not) and looked to see if there were any "older" Skylanders deals. Didn't find the Darklight Crypt I was hoping for *but* they had all the original game starter sets on sale for various prices.

Skylanders Spyro's Adventures:
X-Box 360 - $9.96
PS3 - $19.96
Wii - $29.96

Giants:
PS3 - $19.96
Wii-U - $19.96
Wii - $49.96 (That one surprised me. I didn't expect it to be quite so high.)

I thought about it a minute and then purchased the last copy of the X-Box original in spite of not owning a X-Box (although my grandson wants one). I figure the characters are well worth the ~$10 I paid and if he actually gets a X-Box it'll be that much better.

A bit off topic but I absolutely hate samsclub when it comes to video games. They never seem to remove the cardboard things when they run oos. I've tried to buy 4 or 5 games on clearance and they're always OOS even though they have a handful of those cardboard things out still.

Yeah, I usually don't bother there because of that but these were actually on the shelf (well... under the shelves with price labels and stickers) so I could see if there were copies or not.
