Thanks for the heads-up Krayzie! Had you not posted this I'd not have known about this "event" and we'd not have the figures or sidekicks! Other than your post I didn't see this anywhere and had just searched for release information the day before your post. Even following your post searches came up pretty much lacking in information. I asked my grandson if he'd seen any commercials on his cartoon or other shows (I do not watch much commercial TV these days, especially channels that would have had commercials for GameStop or Skylanders) to which he replied "no". I also receive the GameStop weekly email ad and had looked at it this week to see if they had any figures on sale. It wasn't mentioned at all, nor was there a flyer in the local newspaper.

Here is my daughter's recent cache of unopened figures:

SD is saying that you can get the Skylanders Giants starter pack for $1 or $11. $11 if you price match TRU and preorder swapforce. $1 if you also have a $10 off McD coupon from when they did the skylanders happy meal toys. I imagine all of this is YMMV as they're technically not supposed to stack a pm with any other promos but the computer will automatically do it as long as CS doesn't try to override it.

Wow, someone is already selling those Frito Lays codes on ebay for $20 a pop. Do I have to buy that giant bag of chips for a code or will it come in smaller bags of chips as well?

I never got my second set of minis from the last promo. Got 1 full set and an extra Trigger Snappy for my $16.

I remember finding some last time on sale for $4.99, hopefully someone will have them again for that. I guess I'll have to start looking for them.

I got 4 variety packs at my local grocery store (H-E-B) for $6.49 each with a $1 off two coupon.

$6.49 x 4 = $26 (+ tax but -$2 for coupon) for 80 bags of chips (I've got 5 kids so they won't last long)... then add $2.50 S&H for each... so basically $10 for four little toys and a bunch of happy kids.

I can't enter the codes until Sunday.

I looked today for the chips at Target, Walmart, and Dillons but no luck yet.

I told myself I wouldn't get this game because I didn't want to worry about collecting, but I was able to get a Giant's starter pack at Target for $11, so I picked it up for my kids. What do I need to know about the figures. Is there an idiots guide to skylanders? I know that I need to get all 8 elements to unlock everything in the game, but what is the cheapest way to do this?

Wow. Reading these last month's posts makes me really glad that my 9 years old has seemingly moved on to Minecraft. He mentions the new Skylanders game occasionally but doesn't seem to have the interest he had during the first game and the beginning of Giants.

My daughter hasn't played in awhile but I still collect the figures for "her"!
