When you ordered it, how long did they say the wait was going to be?

Same here. They look pretty good. Eye Brawl looks to be about 20% taller. Thump Back is about the same size as the first set.

Mine said 10-12 weeks. The first 2 arrived 9 days after I placed the order. 2 left to arrive.

Yeah, it has been a max of 3 weeks since I ordered so they are doing this much quicker. Although I will probably jinx myself for the last 2 figures.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I thought it's limit of ONE sidekick per family/household? How did you guys get multiple? I haven't spot any Frito Lay chips with Skylander Promo yet, so I don't know... I just read from the internet that you have to cut out the code and mail it with a check for $2 or something (to cover shipping I guess?) And of course, you can now do that online with PayPal. But again, isn't there a limit of ONE per address? Unless you guys use your neighbor or relative's addresses?

OH NEVER MIND, one of EACH sidekick!

Though I sort of dread having to eat 80 bags of chips between now and Sept 10th (when they expire). Now the waiting begins....

edit : That was supposed to say that my Sidekick will arrive in 10-12 weeks, but apparently it doesn't in this image.
Hi there, so only one redemption code is enclosed per 20-packs? I read about the 13 characters redemption code, I'm still confused how this promo works. Obviously, I'm having trouble locating the chips in the first place so pardon me for asking newbies questions. Does each pack come with a code? That means there are 20 of them in right?

It is a specially-marked bag with a drawstring-type top that contains 20 individual 1 oz bags of six varieties of Frito-Lays chips. Inside the bag there is a card with a 13 character code that can be redeemed online for one of four Skylanders Sidekicks.

Ah, I see, so you do need to buy FOUR 20-packs to get all FOUR mini-Giants sidekicks. If I see them, I'll get them, if not, oh well... Thanks Decker!

Interesting. Is that a store exclusive or a wide release? I purchased a "starter" (actually the full insert from that blue Wii) which had all 3 figures, cards, portal, and game for $38. I'd happily purchase a 2nd (and 3rd) one of the single releases for the grandkids to take one home.

That makes me wonder if Royal Double Trouble will also get a separate release.

The guy from cag said it was in the 8-4 tru ad. He had no idea when other stores would be releasing it. I haven't been keeping up with skylanders info.

Yeah, I almost bought the Wii-less bundle they have on Amazon just for that Tree Rex (and when my daughter saw it on the cover of a Target ad a few months ago, she instantly recognized that it was one we didn't have, so if it has a normal release, I'll be happy. On the other hand, I haven't seen much of the last few waves of Skylanders. I've actually never seen a Spyro in the wild, in fact.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I think I am skipping swap force. I am still debating if I want Infinity. I preordered the mispriced Infinity crap at best buy awhile back and now I feel obligated to buy the game lol

I noticed Target has individual dpci's for all the Infinity figures so it should be much easier to find stock... I wonder if they're doing the samething with swapforce?

I had submitted my first order on June 30 and haven't received anything yet. Hope it comes soon.

I'm waiting on our order to come. I also thought about Infinity then I thought how much I would rather spend that money on a PS4 so the decision became easy. The Infinity sets are too pricey in my opinion. Also, the news that you can't use certain characters in other areas, if true, is a huge letdown.

I agree. Even though you can do "free play" with any character the fact that they are otherwise locked to their movie makes it look like a cash grab. Add to that those mystery power up packages (if I wanted to waste money on blind-buy collectibles I'd purchase Hero-Clixx) and it's a "no deal" for me.

I'm looking at Swap Force but haven't decided yet. We've already spent *way* too much money on the first two games.

Earlier today there was a "loose" figure listing on Amazon that showed the retail box. The box image went away after a couple of hours and now it's a loose figure shown. Several MP vendors on that listing indicate they have the character *in retail package* and not "loose" so maybe there's hope for a true Amazon listing soon.

I read something to that effect : that you can't play local co-op with the included three figures. That's beyond stupid (even if there are all sorts of free extra figure pre-order deals available).
You know all those people who got Skylanders Giants starter kits dirt cheap after sitting out the launch for several months? That might be me with this game.
Besides, I don't want to have to buy two more portals this year for my "dead man walking" 360. (I'm definitely getting Swap Force at launch in October and that requires a new portal, even though old characters will be brought forward to the new game -- and with the ability to jump FINALLY)

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I might go ahead and pick up the portal set for Swap Force with the 10 dollar off chip coupon and to get the lightcore Hex. Then I will wait it out awhile and only grab the few exclusives and wait for sales to pick up figures months after release.

As far as Infinity goes I just think that the worlds look rather bland and the gameplay doesn't excite me much. I really like most of the Disney properties but this seems to be a cash grab at best.

What's cool about Skylanders isn't just the collecting of figures; it's the totally original characters and mythology around them. With the sole exception of Spyro, all the Skylanders are unique creations for that gaming series.
Disney totally misses the point of that. What's the point in collecting a Lightning McQueen figure when everyone with a boy already has seven Lightning McQueen figures in their house? In any case, it's not the same thing.

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

^I'm still kicking myself for not picking up a Drobot or two when one of the WM here had them several weeks back...

**EDIT**
Wow! Gnarly Tree Rex ordered for store pickup! Thanks!

They didn't charge sales tax. Our state has a "Back to School Tax Free Weekend" this weekend. While this doesn't qualify it looks as if they did it anyway. Cool!

re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I ordered one but at first it said that it would be available to pickup on Thursday the 8th and then after the order was placed it said Friday the 9th. They better not screw around and sell them the day before and leave me out in the cold. I'm still looking for one of those damn Scarlet Ninjinis.
