Did they patch these in or were they in the original game code as well? I honestly don't ever remember a patch for this game since the it was released.

There hasn't been a single patch. Pretty impressive these days.

They really need to patch the game. My daughter and I have run into numerous glitches / bugs on the 360 that required us to restart the level. IE falling off the map, evil skylanders not spawning, getting stuck on parts of the map.

We beat the game tonight. I don't know how a little kid is supposed to beat Kaos without a ton of characters for extra lives.

Try beating it with one character as part of getting the Platinum/1,000 achievement points.

Most of the time if you encounter glitches like these you can just take your Skylander off the portal and put it back to reset the character in the world.

Yeah, it seems that most of the issues we encountered though requred a restart. My daughter thought it was hillarious when we fell off a platform and were walking around in the water underneath the platforms.

I tried that once with that murloc looking water guy... grunt gill?? It seemed possible, I just didn't pay enough attention and died while Kaos had a 1/4 of life left. The shark guy seems like the best bet for avoiding traps but killing the mobs is more difficult. I like the murloc guy because I can just fly around spamming the water hose thing with the exploding starfish. It seems to do a good deal of damage against the evil skylanders.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I got the Kaos solo kill achievement with the murloc guy. I however am now stuck on trying to get all the enemy goal objectives. Apparently I need Sonic Boom so I can sacrifice his birds as the objective appears to be bugged on certain levels. I can't find any minions who spawn other minions on Quicksilver or Empire of Ice.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

For those who missed the Newegg $10 off there's a new offer of $12 off a video game pre-release of $50 or more. Code EMCNBHJ256. Promo codes expire at 11:59pm PT on 08/22/2012.

I just did a pre-order of Giants Portal Pack for $62.99. Now the trick is to make sure to cancel either this one or my Amazon pre-order, depending on just which turns out to be less expensive, before shipping.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Well.....screw this series. My son loves the game and I love the fact that we have a game we can play together but I just can't see that list above and look forward to the insane hunting and shopping around that I will need to deal with ALL over again. I need 1 figure to complete my set. I won't even have all of last years figures collected before I have to start all over again?!? With the money I'll save on this game and figures I'd imagine I could find a bunch of other games I can enjoy with a 3 year old. To be honest as interested as my son was in a video of the upcoming Mario Bros. game for the WiiU I could probably buy a WiiU AND the new Mario game in place of this series.

With all that said I wish the company all the best with this franchise because I've seen firsthand over and over again how big this series is and I'm guessing will continue to be. Oh....and hopefully I'll find a Wham-Shell for a decent price soon.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Sounds drastic. If you already have a full series 1 set then you're only looking at 16 new figs. 8 giants and 8 series 2 figs. Giants comes with one of each so that "hunt" is already narrowed to 14.

Also you don't have to buy them all to enjoy the game.

I can take 4 more off, because I don't see the need in having a lightcore and regular pose of the 4 new characters. I'm guessing these will also be released in waves like series 1 since I haven't seen anything to contradict that.

I ran across Wham-Shell a couple times last week at Wal-Mart and Best Buy. There may have been new shipments of the last wave recently.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

To be honest when my son was dealing with therapy for a few months we used the figures as a reward or a distraction. During that time I bought up every figure I could find so we'd always have one to give him. Hopefully that period in his life has passed so I won't have to do the same thing again this time.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I'm going to show restraint and buy some new ones now and the rest later, in the now period for the first game, where the figures are being offered up at buy one get one free.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Michael Corvin, I think Edison is going to skip the reposed Light Core ones from the first game. The. He would only get The new ones in either Light Core or regular.

No, he's right. There are 16 new figures. I thought his original count was including the 4 lightcore versions of the new characters, but it wasn't.

Your correct though I will only be getting one each of the new characters either the lightcore or regular. It most likely will depend on which version I find first.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I am tempted to buy the 8 series 1 figures that aren't being rereleased in series 2.
I wonder how long they will produce series 1 figures once the new game is out.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

I'd think the only series 1 figures they might continue to produce will be those which don't have a repose in series 2. The series 2 figures *should* work in the original game, just without the extras they bring.

If that were the case, we should be shopping for:
  • Sunburn (Fire)
  • Camo (Life)
  • Boomer (Tech)
  • Dino Rang (Earth)
  • Warnado (Air)
  • VooDood (Magic)
  • Ghost Roaster (Undead)
  • Wham Shell (Water)

It makes you wonder if they will now release these figures individually, since I'm guessing the adventure pack 'levels' won't unlock anything in Giants.

I wonder if they even plan on doing adventure packs for Giants. So far the only thing we've seen is the gamestop preorder which is just a battle arena map.

I hope not as they are even bigger cash grabs than the figures themselves. The levels are already programmed in the game but we are having to pay extra to unlock them. Thanks for gimping the original game to rake in some extra bucks.

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Have they shown anything about how Giants will work with the Wii U tablet controller? I wonder if it's worth holding off on the 360 version until they release more info. Although that would also require me to buy the Wii U.

That's going to suck for collectors who have to have every variant.
