Good good. I saw Scott on PS3, I know Cruz and Sauce play on PS3, so I was worried I was the only one dumb enough to upgrade. ;)

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
PSN keeps kicking me off. I tried restarting all my stuff and it won't let me sign in now. Internet is working on all my other devices so I'm not sure what the deal is. I have to be up in like five hours so I should probably call it a night anyway.
This game is pretty crazy. The only thing I did up until this point was the tutorial for online mode, so it was a blast exploring the map a bit with you guys. The heist seems like fun, but I think I need to level up and learn the mechanics a little more before I'm an asset rather than a liability. I had a hard time losing those cops in that third portion. Thank you for your patience though, guys. I definitely look forward to playing again soon. |

Thanks for joining us tonight, man. Yeah, it doesn't probably feel too good when you don't have a lot of weaponry yet, but most of the missions, I believe we can get away with "carrying" you....it's just that I am sure that isn't too fun for you. Don't worry about the driving/police portion, the police AI is always a bitch in the GTA games. I think that they get worse in every installment of the series. It didn't help that, by GTA logic, just stealing the cop car is a two star level, but striking the officer or shooting at them gave us a three star level. The chopper that comes along with a three star (or higher) level makes for a bitch of a time. Feel free to join us any time that you see us on, man, you are more than welcome. |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I'm itching to get on to try some of these heists. Would it matter if I haven't started the main game yet?
|
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I'll be around most of the day tomorrow if we want to get ones going.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Slider, I'm not sure if we are friends on the PS4 or not. You can shoot me a friend request if we are not and do some missions or heists.

You have to at least start the main game. You have to go through the introductory missions I believe. Then you can go online and do the online introduction. Beyond that, you do want to rank up so you have better weapons and more health. |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Level 12 is a bit under prepared in my opinion. These heists can be a struggle and not having the weaponry nor armor can be problematic.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Rockstar really needs to fix their abusive enemy spawn system during some online missions. We were doing Dry Docking last night and my teammates got killed. I was left to try and open the safe but wave after wave of enemies continued to spawn giving me no chance to open the safe. I just gave up. Fix it! It also does that during Stick Up the Stick Up Crew.

Now the ones where enemies just suddenly spawn right beside you or behind you, those are annoying. |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Yeah, I understand that. However, there comes a point where the last man standing should have at least a fighting chance to finish the mission. It gets to be absurd when you and your teammates have killed 75 plus Merryweather guys and they keep on coming.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
If you don't already have the armored karuma, you'll want it. Its almost unfair at times on missions.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Boy, I can't get anyone to agree to a one on one deathmatch for anything!
I need it for my dailies, and after loads of kills of people and them killing me, none accepted. Ugh. It's a sad day when you can't count on people to agree to kill you. |

Anyone noticing a difference in the graphics after the patch? |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Seemed a little smoother, but I don't really take the time to admire the details as long as the overall look is good.
Unless it's just a super obvious ugly sprite. "Look at this beautiful alternate reality! And now 2D sprite jagged foliage!" |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I've haven't played this game at all for a while so I never installed the hesit update.
Rockstar did this with the ballad of gay tony and lost and damned DLC's for GTA IV - noticable differences were: -no more morning fog -no more steam puffing from the sewers -less NPC dialouge/ridiculous amounts of the same NPC walking around -less traffic and pedestrians etc... Guess they do it for max optimization for the content - not sure why they're referring to it as an "issue" here. Maybe it's just because they got caught this time (whereas with teh dlc for IV, they didn't get caught). |
There was a glitch where you could bring the Duke of Death car into multiplayer. Rockstar patched it by making it so it explodes every time you get in it.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
So I finally installed the hesits update.....GTA online is now more broke then ever....how do people actually connect sucessfully to play hesits? What's the trick?
Once again, the online updates ruined my single player game as well, the entire map which I had completely opened up is now only showing sections explored?? Easily the shittiest online gaming of any developer out there. Horrible. |

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
As much as I've bashed this game and still don't understand why people think this game is "Amazing".....I have to admit, now that heists finally work for me, I think they're pretty cool. Rockstar reached their goal of being able to bring single player game missions into the online world (in-full).
I only did two setups as I couldn't start a heist on my own as I don't have a high-end apartment - the first I couldn't keep up, got stuck on the highway and did nothing the whole time but still got a good payout and XP at the end of it. The second one we rescued some dude named Avi but we all failed at getting away from the police. The third (and fourth, and fifth) time(s) I tried the trash collection setup and just constantly failed (that one is tough and if the people you're with are just clowning around, you'll die quick). They fixed my created death-matches in the rockstar creator (at one point they changed to rockstar verified creations) but I haven't checked to see if my map has been restored yet. First person view just doesn't cut it in this game - even altering the control scheme to make it feel like a first person game doesn't work. Things are just "off" - it doesn't flow well. Rockstar really fell down on quality with this title - hoping they make a comeback one day - pretty crazy to say that about a company who made a billion+ dollars off a single title but everyone knows it's true. Definitely going to try and enjoy the heists for a while. |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Where's the goddamn DLC? There's so much of the map that wasn't even touched (prison!).
|
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
The DLC is more stuff to buy including a 10 million dollar gold jet. Isn't that enough? ;)

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I haven't played but maybe 30 minutes of online. Can you just jump right into heists or should you play online awhile to build your guy up?

Not sure if you are serious because this game is a huge step up from GTA IV and anything that came before it. Yes, they have slacked off on adding any new playable content as of late but this game is still better than most of the games, even the ones released this year. And the online, there is no denying how horrible it is. But again, Heists are the only thing decent for the game (and thank god you basically never have to hear the 3 leads voices from the single player game...well trevor's stupid ass makes a few appearances). |
