Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Best Buy sent me an e-mail (2 actually) with my code for GTA V. I got it even before I went and picked up my game.
Also, all my online trophies auto-popped after I transferred my character, along with the trophies for upgrading a gun, modding a car, and the stunt jumps (I did all of them in SP and in MP). So I'm already 40% complete. ;) |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Count me among the people who didn't receive a preorder bonus code. I ordered from amazon and thought I would receive a code via email but nothing yet.
I called customer service and asked, they had no idea a preorder bonus even existed. |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I'm waiting for PC version, so what do you guys think of the rerelease? Most impressions seem positive.
Has the car damage modeling been improved? I only played the original release for a few hours and I was hugely disappointed how big a step back that was from IV. |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
It's a fucking awesome game. This is the version that was meant to be released, well you can tell where Rockstar wanted to do a tru-nextgen release but just simply couldn't at the time.
I love the little blur-effect to maintain draw-distance in the game, I'm sure it will annoy some but I love it and Nausicca, rest assured, playing V is now like playing IV (well, they still kept the same driving mechanics from the original release from V) good damage effects, City feels a lot more real and livable, there are a lot more little things speckeled throughout like after completing the paparazzi mission (first one) Franklin gets a new photo challenge mini-game, there is a ton more dialogue and cut-scenes, NPC's say a lot more (although still dumber than shit, these are the dumbest NPC's ever put in a game...the attempts at normal conversations should have been left out), frequent weazle news updates and better radio commercials just like in IV. The new songs fit perfectly. First person is awesome and I actually love driving in that mode. I ran into one new tv commercial as well for "mystaspot" floor cleaner (or something like that) which was absolutely fucking hilarious. Not sure if there are any new tv shows yet. The biggest thing for me though this time around is that I actually like the characters, there is a lot of new dialogue this time out and for sure, alternate cut-scenes that somewhat flesh them out more...they're just far more likable in this version for me. Game is definitely worth rebuying, I'm actually playing through it for a second time....something I never do, it just feels fresh and like the version that was meant to be played. |

I finished the first Paparazzi mission and didn't get the photo challenge. Under which icon does it show up or do you get a text message? I did get the welcome back message and a few of the extras already.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
It's not the first Paparazzi mission. Look for the "B". Thats Beverly. You do all his missions and then he will text you.

What the hell?? Why would I make that up? I got the text after the first time I met him and took out the rival paparazzi....also, you dint get the "B" on the mao until after you meet him as its a strangers and freak mission....so his icon will be a question mark for his first mission. Damn, way too much explaining for this.

Yes, you can go into settings and set your preference for on foot, in car, etc.
Where in the preferences is this? |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I heard you can invest in the stock martet. Can someone tell me how this works?
Are there any secret areas or tips anyone can share? |

I love that you can do this on a bike, especially cool in first person:

Press L1 in vehicle while unarmed.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
Any tips for flying an airplane? I tried doing the stunt flying mission, I crashed everytime.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
So I decided to go back and play my PS3 version since the hype has picked up again. Well, while getting ready for the BLITZ PLAY mission, I stole the garbage truck, then hid the getaway car and called Michael. After that... nothing. I can't get any more missions to trigger.
Apparently this is a pretty big problem as a Google search brought up many people complaining of the same thing. I haven't found a fix for it though. Has anyone encountered this? My last non-autosave is quite a while ago. |
Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I am playing on the One and have not had a new mission show up in two days. While waiting for a new mission I have ran a triathlon, went jet skiing, took a tour of vinevinewood, went for a night to the bar with Lamar, and robbed a gas station.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V
I just love the on-the-fly switching from First-person to Third-person perspectives. It's awesome and so easy on the PS4 -- just a tap of that touch bar does it.
Is this the first game that lets you switch perspective on the fly? I know Oblivion and Skyrim gave you a choice, but I don't think you could switch back and forth without going into the menu. |
