Yes, the different letter are for whatever character you may run into, be it "L" for Lester, or "B" for the guy from the Bureau, etc.

(The little text bubbles that show up on the TV to explain this stuff are so small, I miss them a lot)
Those are usually text/emails that you can re-check anytime on your cell-phone.

L should be Lester missions and M should be Michael missions. The Strangers and Freaks that are skippable should usually be a smaller letter with a ?

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

So in the PS3 version, I left off at about half-way through the main campaign, without doing too many side-missions. I'm right at that same point now in the PS4 version, and I have to say that I'm having WAY more fun with the game this time around. I don't know if it's due to the game's refinements, know what I'm doing, or what, but it's just much more of a blast, and I'm actually way more into the story and characters this time around as well. The world just feels more alive this time around.

I'm actually digging each character's individual story, each of them are like movies I would like to see, movies which are different enough, but happen to intersect. Michael's is like a Michael Mann movie, Franklin's is like an early John Singleton movie, but funnier, and Trevor's is like a Tarantino doing an exploitation movie - they each have their charms.

I also trip out at how much they made the characters look like their voice actors:

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I finished the story and I think most of the strangers and freaks missions. Still working on stealing that jet. Keep getting shot on the way out.

Started the GTA online and wow. I was missing out. Dont care much for the free roam, but it was a blast doing missions and other things.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

So heists are coming soon:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/iSsm6qTkYuU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

(sorry if it doesn't embed, I'm on my phone)

I don't know though, glad its free but then online portion of this game is just horrid...most people get booted constantly and even a larger number can never connect. San Andreas is missing a lot in terms of environment as well....not sure why they think this is now going to be a smooth roll-out but whatever, maybe I will eat my words.

Looks decent enough though and there is a good article on IGN that highlights what they are trying to pull off.

I just finished the story too, but my checklist is still only at 77%. It says I have 5 Strangers and freaks left even though there's none on the map. Also, is stealing the jet a mission, or just something people try to do? I haven't come across that yet.

I think you have to gather items and complete other things to get all the strangers and freaks missions.

Stealing the jet is just for fun.

Don't get me wrong. Those heists look awesome. But I really want some story based DLC for this one. I wonder if Rockstar is just going to skip that and have all their resources allocated to developing the online world.

They don't have people spamming their comment threads and Twitter/Facebook feeds about single-player DLC like they did with the heists. Nobody could realistically blame them for focusing on the next-gen version first but now that that's out of the way they pretty much have to get the heists out there.

Now after the heists people will start demanding the story DLC.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

There's no way they're not doing some story-based DLC. There's SO MUCH of the map left untouched after the regular game, like a full prison (perfect for a break-out heist), a casino (perfect for a casino heist), and so much more.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Rockstar already confirmed there will be more story dlc..sadly, its going to be with the 3 main protags and no new ones (like GTA IV had). As to when its coming out? Who the hell knows, this is rockstar we're talking about here.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

So there's a Holiday/Festivus-themed free DLC pack available today. Lots of online stuff and vehicles and weapons that should carry over to the main game.

They've released several packs like this before but this is the first one to come to the next-gen versions as well.

Should be available as a title update that is currently rolling out.

I noticed I have a Christmas tree in my characters apt now (which is pretty cool) and I'm almost positive they messed with the decor a little as there is some art and stuff on the walls that I never noticed before.
Supposedly you can have a 3rd property now as well.

I suck at this game. I think I have failed every mission at least once. I don't remember being this bad at GTA. Luckily the checkpoints are good so it's not frustrating me.

Good god. I'm loving the graphical makeover (moved from a PS3) but the pathetic server issues still persist. Slooooooow to load, find sessions and the always fun "everyone left" sessions.

Rockstar's servers are Sony's servers in a nutshell.

The traffic is one thing that infuriates me...the way cpu drivers jump lanes outta nowhere just to fuck you over. Small gripe though considering how much I love GTA Online (barely touched the single player game).

I also noticed that. Definitely a lot of "asshole" drivers.

I am constantly getting kicked back to single player. Its so frustrating. Do other games have this problem? This is the only one ive ever played online.

I haven't had any problems today, but the Rockstar servers have been pretty shaky lately.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

GTA online is shit. Just a lazy mess. The last update broke my single player game (had full view of the map and now it's back to nothing being shown).

don't get me wrong, Rockstar Games is great a creating environments but....when it comes to story, characters, etc... shit is just falling short (and yes, I'm saying all of this after praising the re-release).

Loved GTA IV, it may not have been perfect (and of course a bit boring) but at least they TRIED with the story and for its time, the city was outstanding to play around in and I loved having all new characters and stories in the DLC.

Back to online....so you need a bullshit crew to do heists?? What about us players who don't have much time to game?? Every time I was in a crew I could never get anybody else to do a job with anyway.

I know, it sounds like I'm bitching again, to an extent I am but in all honesty, I guess I would just like answers as to why gta online is such a shit-fest - DO NOT give me the "well it's a large world and complicated blah, blah, blah" bullshit, it hasn't improved in the slightest since being released what....a year or so ago!!!!

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

The thing that aggravates me most about the whole heist scenario (online) is how long it's taken. Me and my friends saved and saved for our fancy digs with the heist planning room for nothing really. And heists were a big reason we all ran out an bought the game (on it's initial console release) since it sounded pretty dang cool.

Heck, I'm still not convinced that it will ever be anything but vaporware.

Is there any way to install the game on ps4 to eliminate the three minutes it takes to load the story mode lol
