Updates! - http://www.rockstargames.com/newswir...ek-captur.html

A lot of new multiplayer stuff coming, as well as a mention of stuff for next year.

Coming in 2014

Expect big things in both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V next year including:

GTA Online Heists. We know many of you in the GTA Online community are super excited for the debut of co-operative Heists. Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year.

GTAV Story Mode Updates. For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.

Plus much more still to be announced.

Ugh, was hoping we would get new characters to use for the single player DLC - I can't stand the current 3 - they're so fucking lame.

unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.
Since they're differentiating it like that, maybe we'll get a Northern SA in a bigger DLC?

I don't like how they are trying to stretch out their release as long as possible while hoping we continue to play the same missions over and over again online. I am still having some fun but damn if we haven't done each and every one of the missions at least 10 times each.

Does anyone else know anything about this North Yankton online glitch and how to get there if the glitch is real?

We got to North Yankton this afternoon and tooled around. Most of the buildings are only partially finished and there are very few pedestrians. However, it would be cool to see them flesh out the map and make it a place you can fly to without having to exploit a glitch to get there.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

So I know I'm late to this thread and didn't start playing the game until a few weeks or so back. Just finished it tonight and I have to say while it was fun I thought it was a bit anti-climactic. The game overall to me felt a bit on the easy side compared to other entries in the series. I don't know if it's just the checkpoints or what exactly but in previous entries it seemed like I would get hung up on certain missions and have to re-do them a bunch of times before passing. This that hardly happened at all and when it did it was usually just something stupid I did wrong. The heist missions were fun but again a bit on the easy side compared to what I imagined they would be. All in all a decent game though.

Yeah. It was a bit easy.

For some reason I can't stand GTA Online. Just can't get into it. It's so boring.

It's fun if you have a good crew to play with. It's not that fun if you're doing it solo and playing with randoms.

That being said, Online was better in the first month or so before they killed the good ways to rank up and earn money. When they did that, the hackers took the game over, throwing money all around and finding ways to instantly rank up.

All of a sudden everybody had a tank, making the public rooms war zones. Rockstar then took away all the free money, but not anything that was bought with it. So you have a bunch of people with lots of high priced stuff, and everybody else with little to no money, and with little ways to make it in the amounts that it used to be possible.

And of course, they've taken WAY too long to get online heists going.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

And once you've done every online missions a hundred times each with no new missions in sight it was easy to finally put the game away. I will be tempted to get it back out and online once new content other than stupid jobs and death matches are implemented. Until then, I will just stick with playing my PS4.

I will admit to feeling somewhat violated when some prick stole my bicycle when I went into a gas station for a drink. Walked in and walked out when I noticed some bastard running off with my bike. I thought it was hilarious but also pissed me off cuz that took me forever to find on my first online play. It was like LA rioting on the day I jumped on.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

The characters seemed more fragile than previous games. I suspect that forced them to try to tune the game to fit, but they ended up making the game easier. I didn't feel the need to use the special abilities that much. I really missed having the military show up for 5-star wanted levels.

The gold requirements made the game a bit harder, though often more tedious.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Just announced that GTA V is coming out on the new consoles (from Rockstar's site) - promising more in the graphics department with weather, cars, etc..

I couldn't see myself re-buying this game, it's a boring mess in it's current state and I HIGHLY doubt they are going to add anything new to do in the game.

I'm hoping I'm dead wrong and I know a lot of you really like this game but I can't be the only one let down by it.

For me personally, it just seems that Rockstar is becoming like all the others (i.e. Activision, ubisoft, etc...) with all this cash grabbing....it took 5 years to make GTA V?? I'm still dumbfounded by that one but hey, they played it right and people paid for they hype and not the game....they have to know something we don't as it's about to happen again.

Again, hoping I'm dead wrong.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I enjoyed the game, but realized that I'm starting to get bored of the open world GTA type games. I'm losing interest in running around doing random things, and actually just liked the storyline in the game as the voice acting is top notch.

I loved GTAV, such a great rebound from what I thought was a major let down with GTA4.

I'm glad I held off picking up a copy. I'll pick it up for the PS4 once it's under $40.

Now, can we finally get the fucking heists out before the new console versions?

I asked the same question in the E3 thread:

Will they have Online Heists available when this comes out? I was so pumped for GTA Online for doing Heists but it never came

With Payday2 and Battlefield Hardline I have no interest for GTA V anymore.

If they were cash grabbing, wouldn't they be pushing out a new GTA every year as opposed to making you wait 5 years?

Exactly, again - they knew people were buying hype. the game does not warrant the five years they said they put into it (at least, it sure as hell doesn't appear that way).

It's brilliant on their part - they made a F'n killing on the game.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I think you're better off just realizing you're in the minority in not enjoying the game then to jump to the conclusion that it was a cash grab. I think that's a pretty big stretch, and honestly i'd say the scope of the world they put together, the gameplay mixing 3 characters, and overall story certainly warranted the time spent on it.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Yep, I just hope they are already working on the next one and are already into the several year cycle it takes to make one. Also, as long as I see a jump in fidelity, frame rate and population in the game then a purchase of this game on the PS4 will be warranted. My biggest gripe about the online is their reluctance to put out the heists and continue to develop new missions rather than their focus on other jobs like survivals, races and death matches, which I don't care much for. Recently there have been a handful of new missions put online for those that like them. I would like to see them take a cue from some of the missions that I have played in Watch Dogs and make the GTA missions more diverse. You have this big ass map with a lot of locations so use them. Make some new interiors and get the casino and race track open already!

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Actually I just realized how much I talk about bashing the game so....I will stop but trust me, I'm NOT in the minority.

Bottom line....I hope they add a ton of stuff to do in the nextgen version or at least add more interactive buildings\events to the huge areas on the map that have absolutely nothing going on.

I'm pretty sure you are; while there's sometimes a disconnect between reviewers and users, along with the game being critically acclaimed the user scores on many of the major gaming sites are also extremely high including the community score on IGN, Metacritic, or Amazon reviews. If the majority disliked it, you'd see those flooded with negative scores.

Not saying there aren't those that were disappointed; I actually got more of that feeling with GTA IV then this one.
