Speaking of...I didn't see any of this kind of stuff in the GTA V trailer. Instead, I guess you get teenage kids. Welcome to my real life.

Saints Row 3 was awesome fun and held my attention long enough to get the platinum but GTAV is looking like one enormous experience. I don't mind the realism in this game when there are games like Saints Row to counterbalance. Also, I stuck it out with GTAIV and got the platinum on it as well.

Shaundi was basically a completely different character in SR2, and I actually liked her then. I was not a fan of what they did to her in SR3, so much so that I also prefered the ending where she doesn't make it.

Both versions of Shaundi appear in the SR4 trailer, which is kind of awesome that they seem to be acknowldeging that.

BTW, since you're referencing unlockables that you get from a certain ending, you know that you can replay the last mission, do the other ending, and get those unlockables too, right?

Yeah, truth is I did the "good guy" ending first.

I thought this was the GTA V thread?

Anyway, I decided against the special edition. It wasn't worth an extra $20 for a steelbook and blueprint map.

Oh and Saints Row 3 was right up there with Dragon Age II as the most overhyped and disappointing games of this generation.

Agreed.

It threw a ton of crazy shit at you, but very little of it was actually fun and engaging to play.

SR4 and GTA5 are, at face value, similar and competing games, and I don't think I'll probably get both...at least not right away.

If there was hype, much less overhype, for Saints Row 3, I missed it.

What are you kidding? Saints Row 3 had a different trailer every week telling us how wild and crazy it was going to be.

I thought I was done with this series but that new trailer has me sucked back into buying this one. Looks amazingly fun to me.

Still gonna hold out for PC or PS4 version. I would be shocked if they didn't make a port for next-gen consoles.

Also maybe for GTA 6 they can get developers from Saints Row and GTA Developers collaborate to make one awesome game

They may make a port but not anytime soon. Maybe release it in between GTA V and GTA VI.

Looks like we won't have to worry about losing a car that we've customized any longer. If your car gets blown up or the tires get blown out, it'll appear at an impound, seems like a cool addition.

Sounds like you still have to fetch it. Once a car is in my garage, it should always reappear in my garage unless I delete it.

It seems like every time they have a choice between fun and realism, they err on the side of realism. Annoying.

I'd always have these badass cars parked in front of my safe houses in GTA IV and would never drive them because I didn't want to wreck it, have it blown up and lose it.

I was the same way, but I always drove recklessly.

That's Saints Row. The overly fun and pretend factor.

I almost didn't want to get SR because they called their special edition the "Wub Wub" edition. It was even worse hearing the Gamestop guys talk to some 14 year old kid about it.

Can't wait to see online play! I just hope there is no ridiculous trophy for getting to wanted level 10. That was at least 60 hours to earn the 10 million dollars.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Has there been any confirmation that this San Andreas has the "San Francisco" and "Las Vegas" cities that the last one did?

I've seen zero footage of them in any of the trailers.

This game has neither of those cities unless they are planning to surprise us big time.

Well that sucks. Then it's not San Andreas, is it? Since SA refers to the whole state and not just the city based on LA and it's outlining areas.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Well, to be fair they have said that the map of this game, despite not having San Fierro nor Las Venturas, will be bigger than the Red Dead, GTAIV and San Andreas maps combined.

I think that San Fierro was a rather boring incarnation of SF and they sort of dropped the ball with Las Venturas.

Vegas was a pretty big disappointment to me if I remember that correctly. However, I loved San Andreas and the wide open expanses.
