Perfect example of both... Last night I was running around with Franklin and had a couple bystanders comment on my body odor & clothes, so I duck into a clothing store. While walking around picking out new duds, I accidentally bump into another shopper who runs outside and gets me a 2 star rating. Cops surround the place and are yelling for me to come out. I walk into the dressing room to get out of their sight cones, stand there for 30 seconds and they all leave.

Anyone else just make a shit ton of money investing in HAL on the BAWSAQ? I bought shares at just over 50 cents and last night they were over $5.

The BAWSAQ is the same for everyone, right?

Finished all the story missions last night. That final heist mission was incredible. My take was $31.5 million for each of the characters, which I then turned into $195 million each by using the stock market along with the assassination missions. Money worries are over!

It's tied into the Social Club and online somehow, but there are also specific in-game things that affect the rates in your own game (see above).

I haven't tried the stock market yet. What if I don't have an online connection to my XBox? I only dug it out to play this game and it's old enough that there is no built in WiFi. Will the market still work?

Well I finally went through the tedium of collecting the letter scraps and spaceship parts. I now sit at 100% complete, though I still have the last stranger mission to do. I'm not sure how long you have to wait after getting to 100% for the last one to pop up, but hopefully it won't be long.

Now I just need to get to 70 golds on missions and I'll have all the SP trophies.

I think the LCN stocks will work, but the BAWSAQ might not.

There are 2 in-game markets. One is fully offline, but the other is integrated with the online. I have a feeling you'll just get the "down for maintenance" message, but it doesn't hurt to try.

If the stranger mission you still need is "Uncalculated Risk," you have to complete all the parachute jumps marked on the map for that one to show up.

I also picked up all those collectibles. At least they had a point this time, unlike the pigeons in GTA IV.

Considering how much the stock market plays into certain missions, I'm sure that there's an offline version of it. In fact, based on how shaky the social club integration is in this game, we're probably all playing from an offline version.

I read somewhere a couple of days ago that BAWSAQ stock rates for places like Ammu-Nation are partially determined by the amount that players are spending there in-game. That could be total B.S., but it's a cool idea.

The problem with that is that there's only a few places in the game where you can go and spend money. Everybody needs guns and ammo, so obviously you're going to have a ton of players in Ammu-Nation at any given time. Plus there's no competition (apart from looting corpses).

I heard that BAWSAQ was contingent on online in world things as well.

I'm glad I'm not anal about getting 100% in GTA games, I think it would drive me crazy.

I haven't had much time, finally finished Trevor's first group of missions. Not really a fan of that character so far, Michael and Franklin were more interesting.

Thanks for responses re: stock market. I hope to sink in more time this weekend.

What I've found enjoyable is blocking freeway traffic so a bunch of cars pile up, then drive around them shooting my gun. When all the passengers get out of their cars and start running away, I drive around madly trying to hit them :lol:.

It wouldn't be possible at all. Some of them are tucked away in remote places or require a helicopter to access.

I used the interactive map on the Social Club site, which shows the location on the map along with a hint. It also updates almost instantly with ones you've found, which can then be hidden from view.

No, the last mission I need is literally called "The Last One." You only get the mission after you reach 100% completion. I'm not sure of the time frame it takes for it to trigger.

Though in waiting for it and trying to trigger something else that happens at the 100% mark, I uncovered yet another collectible item: Epsilon Tracts. There's 10 of them, and they only show up after you've completed the Epsilon missions. I just happened to find the first one by luck!

I also happened to find the GTA version of the Playboy Mansion. I think it's the only place in the game outside the strip club where you'll find topless women. I went there and a pretty funny thing happened. I talked to a guy, and he decided to fight me. After I knocked his ass out, the girl that was with him (topless) decided to start walking away from me fast. So I follow, and she actually walks out of the mansion complex and gets hit by a car.

At that point she gets up and starts running. Topless girl running down the streets of Rockford Hills, screaming and yelling! I'm chasing her just to see what happens. She runs all the way to the cemetery when she finally turns around and starts running in the other direction. Then she just starts doing laps on the sidewalk in front of the cemetery. I took a couple of shots with my cam, including a selfie with her in the background!

The grenade launcher/sticky bombs on the highway while it's blocked is a sure fire entertaining way to go all out and die really fast. Only downside is the almost half a million I've blown on hospital bills to date.

I don't know if this has already been discussed, but how the hell do I even get just a bronze medal in the Helicopter Course at the flight school?

Most difficult thing I've come across in the twenty hours or so I've put into the game.

This is the kind of game where the next-gen and automatic recording of gameplay would pay off. There is so much stuff that can just happen while you're playing that it would be great to be able to watch it again, edit it and upload it so that we can all get a kick out of it. I had one of the most amazing ten minute or so police chases yesterday with all 3 characters in the car. We just couldn't shake the cops and they all died when the car exploded after falling straight down off a mountain.
