I've got it pre-ordered and pre-paid so about to leave again to go get in line. Haven't done a midnight release for a while, kinda fun. Bummer that by the time I get home and do the 30 minute install I'll probably be to tired to play.

They said, in the blog and Twitter, 12 am eastern time.

They have been making changes to the page, but no download button yet. Everyone refreshing every minute doesn't help I guess.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

My PS3 actually crashed at 12 am, I clicked on a button on the PSN store and it crashed, it asked me to quit, and when I quit it rebooted the console.

I will update this post to not annoy you guys, even more I mean.

12:34 am, now the game is unavailable. You can't access the page for the game in the store. I guess they are making the change now.

12:41 am finally downloading. It says 18 GB. 186 minutes left.

Good thing that I live in the West Coast, so it should be ready by 1 am!

Thought about using my actual vanity plate, but decided against it. Went with:

Opening scene is fantastic.
And yes, there is some awkward pop in at the beginning, haven't notice any since, though.

Maybe Chops is in Springfield. Bart Simpson is such a bastard about those plugs.

My custom license plate and car I ordered on the iPhone app are nowhere to be found in-game...

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

A buddy of mine went to a midnight opening at Gamestop and he said they have a shitty DJ playing crappy pop songs. There's also about 200 people in line so far, and most of them look like they're in high school.

He also said some dudes are skateboarding to pass the time.

It gets really hot in Los Santos, so hot that the concrete melts...

And that dude, well he was standing on that chair when it broke and he fell through the chair and the melted concrete...

Hey, baby, what's happening?

How you doing?

Once you've had a man with no legs,

you never go back.

I know what you're thinking.

You seen "Porgy And Bess"?

We can make it, baby. Me and you.

You bitch!

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Just got back from my Gamestop. The manager wouldn't sell me a guide with 20% off. He said to come back the next day and lie to them and say I forgot to ask.

Supposedly they were giving out free pizza, that never came to pass. Smelled a ton of weed in the air. People bumming me for cigarettes. At least half a dozen people were high and/or wasted.

They had shitty music at mine, too, and the DJ left at midnight which angered some.

Oh and they forgot to give me my code for the pre-order. So I'm thinking of complaining to corporate. What a shitty experience.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

Yay! My copy finally shipped! I guess it must be coming from the California distribution center since it's still supposed to be delivered today.

We shall see when it actually shows up on the UPS site.

I played for an hour. Kept messing around with Franklin.

I love it so far. Really feels like the world is alive.

so for the 360 version, you can't "install" game and play from HD? if so, how come?

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 to a V

I think you can but it just isn't recommended due to performance issues. You have to install disc 1 regardless.
