My PS3 is hooked to my tv via HTML and hooked to my AV receiver via optical. I'm getting a fair amount (1 sec) of latency/delay from when i play a note on the guitar to when it comes out of the speakers.
Also, the pots on my guitar (an old sears/robuck telecaster copy) are clicky and might be cutting out some which rocksmith doesnt seem to like (it took me forever to get through the tuning part) so i need to replace those.
I just realized I can try out my new bass, which i know has great working electonics, on this game.
I always wanted to hook to a TV via XML personally.

It recommends using the analog ports (Red/White) for audio out if possible, but some TVs are also just laggy.

.
I had similar latency issues through HDMI/Optical. I switched to component cables with video to TV and audio direct to my receiver, no more latency problems (which made session mode useless).

PS3 comes with a cable that plugs into the back. That cable has analog audio and video plugs. I can't find mine. All I've used is the HDMI, but I'm pretty sure it came with one.

I installed the game on PS3 today and tuning sucks balls. It took me at least 15 min to get all the strings tuned because every time I plucked a string, the meter would just vary wildly up and down and would never stay in the "zero" area long enough. I tried to vary volume, different pickups, etc... and it took forever. I think that meter thing is just too sensitive. Just Google "Rocksmith 2014 tuning issues" and you get a bunch of threads. There are some tips in this thread:

So I read that Ubi is making an updated version of this game and, as a new guitar player, I researched and found that Rocksmith 2014 is indeed compatible with the Xbox Series X... so I picked it up off Amazon last night. I take weekly lessons but I love the idea of this "game" to help me get some more time in during the week.
