re: Battlefield Talk

I hunting wookies.

This is definitely a different game when you have a squad rolling together from objective to objective...especially when you have 1-2 medics.

re: Battlefield Talk

Good times with Shum and Ogs tonight.

Early on, I was playing with a couple of other guys I met, and we had one EPIC game on Nelson Bay where it was super close the whole round and we won by maybe 10 tickets or so. I ended up with something like 25 ribbons and 5 dogtags...we got Gold Squad and I got the ace by about 2000 points.

Later, Shum jumped in with this Axis dude and and me, and we were ragging on him pretty hard. Funny funny stuff. Most of it was "had to be there" kind of stuff, but one thing I do remember was me saying "thanks for saving my bacon there" a couple of times, and this Axis kid (he was like 22) says "what are you obsessed with pork", and without missing a beat, I replied "yeah, you should ask your mom". I don't think he knew what to make of Shum and me!

Then Ogs showed up and we rolled for a few games.

Overall, a complete blast of a night. I'm really surprised how little trouble I'm having finding games in BC2 these days. It was quiet when BF3 first came out, but it seems as strong as ever to me.

Rolled with flip and ogs tonight...good times.

I like playing with Ogs because he's always rolling an engineer and he lights up vehicles. He must've launched an APC a couple hundred feet in the air with a bunch of mines tonight. It was crazy.

re: Battlefield Talk

It's official, BC2 absolutely BLOWS if you don't play with a coordinated squad/team. I just finished a round #1 (on the RU side) with 580 points. Needless to say we got our asses wiped. My entire team was wookies hanging out on the edge of the map (harvest day) making zero effort to take objectives.

I have to disagree on the "easy to find good games" statement. I find it extremely difficult to get a good match. Pretty much every random game I jump into I'm on the losing end of a thorough ass kicking. In the rare occasions when I'm on the winning side, half the other team usually quits as soon as the round is over. It's pretty much impossible to find an evenly matched server and play more than 1 or 2 rounds. It's pretty much one team pounding the other right out of the game.

I've tried to exit the game and find another, but more often than not it just puts me right back into the same game which tells me that there really isn't that many people playing it.

re: Battlefield Talk

I'm not sure how big of a difference it makes, but I usually pick a map rather than leaving it on "any".

It sometimes takes me 3-4 tries, but I don't usually have that much trouble finding a game with even numbers and with one team having a surmountable lead. And when I'm in a bad game, it's usually clear within a minute or two, and I don't feel compelled to stick around beyond that.

Yep. Slash and burn. I hopped into a random game yesterday and while I couldn't find a decent squad on that team, my team overall was decent. Got an ace and still lost the map... but it was competitive until the end.

I only seem to get my rare ace pins when I'm not playing with friz... hmm...

There are plenty of games going on that you shouldn't be stuck in a bad game unless you're feeling masochistic or hellbent on stabbing some wookie....

Good times earlier today with Spatula, Shum, Flip, Ogs, and Diecast.

We were really in a good zone on some competitive maps until Flip left...then we got pimpslapped.

Too much football yesterday for games, but I'll probably roll some BC2 tonight if anybody is around.

I dropped into play a couple of games between period of the Penguins game yesterday. Brutal. My team was down two against a superior team of ****monkeys. We still made it close.... lost by thirty tickets or so.

re: Battlefield Talk

Holy shit fellas...I was TEARING IT UP tonight in BFBC2!

This is how good I was playing:
  1. I got the Ace Pin 6 maps in a row
  2. I consistently had a 3 to 1 kill ratio.
  3. For the first time, I took out an Apache with a UAV.
  4. I finally got the chopper road kill trophy by running over a dude who was coming to stab me on the UAV.
  5. Got my first air warfare pin...turns out I don't spend a lot of time up there.
  6. 4 different people sent me friend invites, including a dude on the other team.
  7. I got Gold Squad on a map with 12 players, and I didn't have anybody on my team!

Missed you bitches, but it was a hell of a night!!!

Beautiful, man, beautiful. I was being all responsible and helping with a sick baby and doing homework. Plus, if I (or any of us) were there, that amazing #7 never would have happened!

re: Battlefield Talk

Yeah, I literally when I saw the Gold Squad pin pop up for my squad of 1. On that map, I also got:

#8. 2 combat efficiency and 2 combat excellence pins on one map and went 28 and 3.

But the highlight of the night was definitely taking down the chopper with a UAV missile. It reminded me of the old "how to not be a noob" video from back in the day...and it couldn't have been 30 seconds later that I road killed the guy coming up to stab me. Maybe my favorite minute of Battlefield ever!

re: Battlefield Talk

Sometimes the wookie just needs stabbin'

He's been crouched in a bush on some hillside taking cheap shots at me for a while. Some folks find him difficult to ignore, but my favorite sound in the game is his missed shots going past my head...like little drops of fail for me to savor as I travel to the next objective. Only after he's put his team in the most dire unwinnable position do I creep around the perimeter of the map to collect his dogtags...a little bit of his immortal soul, such as it is, that I get to keep forever.

I smile just thinking about it.

Erudite, loquacios and yet homicidal, just the way I like my murderously stabby squad leaders.

I hopped on for just a minute last night...had good intentions in the morning and then a brutal/long day at work.

Tonight...it's on.

re: Battlefield Talk

Fun times tonight in BFBC2. Relatively light turnout with Spatula, R2, Dog, Lee and me at varying times, and that Axis guy jumped in for a bit too.

Highlights for me:
  • We played the douchiest team on Arica Harbor, and I swept 4-6 of them with my SAW several times. I'd run into 3 of them from the side and light em up...just to see another 1 or 2 spawn in. Got the ace pin on that one by 1500 points.
  • SAW sniping dudes out of trees and off of windmills
  • Took out a Hind from a moving tank
  • Took out a Blackhawk with gunners on both sides with Uncle Carl
  • Spatula passed Vong on the leaderboard...seemed quite pleased with himself
  • I continue to dominate the Ace Pins. Bet I got 10 today.

I was up and down all night...some good 13-3, some so-so, 25-29, some awful, 3-9...

by far the highlight for me was on the map with the giant windmills:

Frizby, Spatula, and I were spawn camping (!!!!!) and I saw some guys running for the helicopter. i was closer, so i ran over and dropped down some mines all around it...BOOM...suicide () and 2-3 kills. Then I respawn and lay down some more mines where the choper spawns. I don't know if someone was laying there waiting to jump in, but as soon as it spawned...BOOM...then i run around and kill some people (), get some ammo and run over and fill the crater with more mines. Helicopter spawns, 3 guys run over and get in...BOOM...they had to hate me.

I felt like Nicholls and Slider mining Warhawks.

Yeah...after the snipe fest on Arica Harbor, we had no mercy on those guys...even though most of the snipers had probably long since left.

Friz: "What kind of a douchebag hides in a tree?"
R2 a couple minutes later: "How do you get up in a tree?"

Ahahaha...for the record I heard you say that and thought you meant someone was glitching and kneeling in the trunk of a tree...then I took gunfire from the hillside and isaw someone hopping around in the branches. I didn't even know that shit was possible.
