re: Battlefield Talk
Would love to see a retail release of this...or a game based on this cartoon premise but with the destruction engine. Games like Team Fortress, Borderlands and Warhawk appeal to me at least partly due to their cartoony presentation.

That was fun for a change yesterday. Can't believe how the other team was rolling yesterday. Then they fell apart and just started camping it up. I killed that bushwookie (apel-something) at least 15 times.
I like BF3 better just for the amount of variety of weapons. I had 10 kills in one game last night just with claymores.

re: Battlefield Talk
The list continues to grow...why Battlefield Bad Company 2 is better than Battlefield 3:
13. 9000% less gun recoil
12. Wookies
11. You can actually talk to your squad
10. No claymores
9. MUCH better variety of maps
8. Easier to join friends and squad up
7. Uncle Carl
6. No flashlights
5. No tunnel maps
4. Unrealistic but functional parachutes
3. Destruction is more than decoration
2. Chopper hunting with AAA and Carl Gustav
1. Dogtags

re: Battlefield Talk
I played BC2 for almost the entire day yesterday and I was really starting to miss the variety of weapons and customization options in BF3. The silencers and scopes and whatever else really make it more fun to experiment with different weapon configurations. The weapons in BC2 are vanilla. Even the scopes... No scope, red dot, and 4x. That's it?

I'm just happy to not have to wrestle with my gun.
One of my favorite things about Warhawk was how "vanilla" the weapons were. It's a level playing field and a streamlined game.

The recoil issue (BF3) is only for the LMGs which it should be anyway. Most just spray and pray with those damn things anyhow so it makes me smile when they can hit shit with it. In BC2 medics use those things like a sniper rifle but with unlimited ammo.
The attachments on the weapons do change the characteristics of the gun. I've found the foregrip/silencer combo to work fine for reducing recoil.
The only things I agree with on your list frizby is the VOIP and the parachutes suck. Other than that I've either not been bothered or learned to counter. I actually like the flashlights on enemy weapons since it's helped me see them. I've won more gun battles than be blinded by them.
The only other thing that I think got the short straw was the recon class. I hate recon but they got screwed in BF3. Every other class can handle vehicles. I don't miss the motion spamming usas assault wookie though. I hated those bastards.

re: Battlefield Talk
Good times in BC2 today with Meat and Flip. It took us a bit to find a good competitive lobby, but we eventually did.
I'm getting dangerously close to 100 ace pins.
edit to add: ...and by "dangerously close", I mean that I hit 100 ace pins today! It was on the last game with Meat...and it was a tie for ace, which I've never had happen. I tied it at the last possible second by killing the dude who was harassing Meat and reviving him right as time ran out...I forget what the total is for that, but it's something like 100 for squad avenger, 50 for the kill and 80 for squad revive.

re: Battlefield Talk
Had to bail on Spatula last night just a few minutes in. I was doing that thing where I get obsessed with killing one dude and he killed me in increasingly stupid ways 4 times including a couple of knife whiffs...frustration was getting the best of me, and I was tired anyway.

No worries, chess. Can you please move Octo up in the BFBC2 ranks? He and I have been playing a bit lately. If it seems like a hassle to do, you would be moving him up above Slider so maybe that will entice you.

re: Battlefield Talk
Sure.
Played a couple of rounds tonight.
I even managed to have some fun on Heavy Metal. I had one little run driving a dune buggy with this kid in the gunner seat, and we were just wrecking house...taking out tanks and other dune buggies...ran 4 guys over...we must've rolled for five solid minutes in that thing. Once he got shot off the gunner's seat, and I jumped out, shot the dude who got him, revived him, and we were rolling again! So fun.

re: Battlefield Talk
Also added Meatpants to the BFBC2 stats list.
I've been catching him on quite a bit of late...more than anybody else really. So he's either starting to "get it", or it's just another BF game to level his way through since he's fully tank-whored his way through BF3.
Probably the latter.

I really only played BC2 for a short time when I first bought it so I really didn't give it an honest effort. I just seem to have terrible luck online with the games I hop into (it's usually on a team that's getting annihilated). It's definitely better when you're on and we get some squad coordination going. My stats are slowly improving from the huge hole I was in from playing the majority of my games solo. I still would like to see what would happen with 2 squads of DVDTalkers.Another thing is... I'm oh so close to a platinum in BC2... and the trophy whore in me is taking over.

Rolled for a bit tonight with Meat and some random dude...we got ****monkey chopper whored early on, but we finished strong. We probably stayed in a couple of maps longer than we should have though.

You two must've hopped off just as I was getting on. Like ships that pass in the night. Or trains that pass in the Metro...

I'm still getting into the swing of Baby / Work / School as opposed to Sept. - Dec. when it was just Baby / Work. I've been walking around on the verge of being sick. Yesterday I was up at 6:00am, dropped off the kid at day care, went to class, went to work, got home from work at 9:00pm, and I went right to bed. Not on purpose; just laid down and it happened. Got up at 7:00am this morning and am doing the whole thing again today.
Wanted to play but nope, that didn't happen.

Played a little bit yesterday afternoon. Competitive games but my team was shite. It was me and another guy in my squad finishing 1 and 2 every map with everyone else a distant suck. The other team used snipers/spotters very effectively and caused me to go wookie hunting to keep them honest... which of course kept me from taking objectives... and nobody else was taking them... so... sigh. One map I finished with a 24-10 k/d ratio, lost the ace by 20 points. And gathered a mess of wookie tags. So satisfying.
