I unlocked the USAS-12 in the middle of this Operation Metro in which we had six DVDTalkers and friends on our team. Locked the other team down but good.

re: Battlefield Talk
It's been my primary gun since I first started using it a couple days ago. Pretty much a one-shot kill every time. I could never kill anyone at distance with the rifles anyway, so I've altered my style to be more aggressive. I've had pretty good success with it just rushing objectives and taking out the one or two defenders that might be camping. You definitely don't lose many up close battles with it.
Considering what they've done to some of my other favorite guns, I'd be shocked if they don't nerf the USAS in the future. Talk about a "beast" of a weapon.

I spend most of my time in vehicles, so I'm usually a big red bulls-eye for choppers. I guess when you're on foot running in and out of cover they're not as big of a nuisance.

UGH. It's taking so long to level up. I hate the whole unlock better guns as you get more kills. I can't aim for shit so that's going to take forever. LOL

I'm actually usually happy to see choppers and planes in the air...fewer dudes to contend with at or around objectives.

You also get some very usable weapons at lower levels. In my case, it just took forever to figure out which ones. I was very (too?) loyal to the M249 and stuck with it for a good while. It's still a solid gun, but I can't even tell you how much happier I am with my new regular gun.

There were some good times and there were some bad times. I certainly have more fun on the new maps than most of the original BF3 maps.
Got me quite a few tags last night too.

re: Battlefield Talk
Some dude was lighting me up with the FAMAS last night. Pretty effective.
870 seems to be a pretty good shotgun too...slow rate of fire, but powerful and better range than other shotguns.
@ flip, yeah it was a mixed bag...just some maps that came up that I despise, and the blueberries seemed like they lost interest at some point. Not to mention a couple of pet peeves. It irritates me when the team gets obsessed with spawn camping the other team and doesn't notice that they are rocking our objectives. I was also a bit off in terms of reaction and aim.
Like spatula mentioned a few pages back, this game tends to make me angry more than BC2 did for a variety of reasons. My latest pet peeve is the number of objectives that are build so you almost have to be exposed to take the objective. I did notice that they extended the range on a couple of the objectives in the last update (A on Canals comes to mind), so maybe they'll adjust a few more at some point.

You know, that may be something that works itself out eventually. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but didn't you guys get to the BFBC2 party late, far past its being a new game? While blueberries doing their own thing certainly happened in BFBC2 in 2011, I wonder if by virtue of being a brand-new game BF3 is going to see that for a while and as the dust settles and attention / interest wains, those folks will slide out of the game until the ones interested in PTFO are left. I can't blame the game for poor team players but it sure affect my experience.
In other news, I learned this weekend that if you want your Kill/Death Ratio to hit rock bottom, do team deathmatch for a couple hours.

I think you're right, but I also think there are structural problems with this game. The way your character doesn't always engage to jump over obstacles, the way they mess with your visibility with both suppression effect and flashlights, the narrow level designs that limit running routes and encourage camping, the recoil...it all adds up to an experience that I find deeply frustrating.
Last night, I got run over by a forklift...and then the dude wiped out my whole squad systematically. There are some people out there who are really really good at shooters, and they are migrating to BF. I'm happy for BF, but I'm also feeling really outclassed. Would be better if the matchmaking weren't asstastic.

I am completely ignorant about exactly how to do it, but would the group be interested in renting a ranked server for a few months? We could pick the maps, kick the campers, etc. I wouldn't mind spending $20 on it if it would keep people a little happier while playing.
Found this talking about resources: http://www.battlefield.com/battlefie...ranked-servers
This one is on 50% sale for the next month or so if we decided to try it. I'd pick up a month or two's worth of cost (at 50% that's ~$20): http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/...battlefield-3/

re: Battlefield Talk
I'll be getting Battlefield 3 for Christmas, so if anyone ever needs a lowly scrub for a team, let me know.
I've had a PS3 for about a year, but only have one "friend" on there. He's addicted to BF3, so at least it's a start.
I just started doing multiplayer a few days ago (Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3) and I'm more of a lone wolf free-for-all type, but BF3 seems like it'd be much better with teams.

re: Battlefield Talk
I'm in the same boat about being outclassed. FPS's are definitely not my strong suit. I wasn't that great at any of the previous BF games either so getting tooled in this one is nothing new. That being said, I find the game is 100% more enjoyable when you're playing with friends. I'm almost always playing with randoms and hardly anybody talks or plays the objective.
Whenever I get in with the DVDTalkers it's a whole different experience. Yeah you get run over every now and then, but at least there is a good group of 3 or 4 that are working together. And it makes a BIG difference in the fun factor. I'll take having an average round with a good squad over being the MVP any day. About 1/3 of my MVPs have come playing solo, on losing teams, where I was literally the only person actively playing the objective. Having a great statistical round does not guarantee fun. Believe me.
Anyways, just wanted to say that personally I don't think I've had a bad experience in the few times that I've actually played with anyone on here. The game definitely has frustrating moments, but when you're playing with good group of people you usually don't notice them as much.

So I haven't been jumping on BF3 lately. I was wondering have they made it so that we could organize a private match? - It seems to me the reason that Warhawk and CoD are so much fun is that we can get a group into a private match. I haven't tooled around enough with the options to figure out how private matches would work. I think we also need to organize a BFBC2 night for old times sake.
