I played it when it first came out. It was ok - if you could get used to the controls. Anyone have any idea how to speed up the Metal Gear update?

If you mean what I think you mean, that's just silly. Warhawk and BFBC2 are standout multiplayer experiences, and Transformers felt bland and generic.

It's not super twitchy. It has customizable classes. Controls are responsive and fairly intuitive. I've played a handful of matches and nothing really feels overpowered. Good and a nice change of pace but not great. I'd say I got my money's worth for under $20.
Stick with Uncharted 2 for this type of game IMO. It's much more solid all around.

My copy of BFBC2 arrives on Wednesday. My wife isn't going to be happy with you guys and your bad influence...

My wife called me to tell me it is done. Took 8.5 hrs from the server.

Once again, good and different. Not great. I guess I can count you out if I decide to throw this up there.

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

Anyone have any requests for next week? I guess there wasn't much interest in MW2 last night ran into a couple of guys i played CoD4 with for a handful of matches then joined up with Origami and nic44. I miss tactical knives/commando douchbaggery. Good times.

8.5 hours?

I thought the 15gb for DC Universe Online was bad.

I don't even think the file was that large just the connection to the server was crap.

Is the MP on Killzone 2 any good? Should I bite for $11?

I don't know how active the online community is especially w/ KZ3 coming out. It's nothing we haven't seen in any other game. All the maps are dark and gritty. The controls are sluggish compared to CoD and BFBC2. I don't know if anyone else has it. I was thinking about it for $11 too - just to have it.

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

I don't know that I would ever play it. I've had Resistance 2 since the summer sale at Gamestop and I've only ever updated and bought a DLC pack but not tried it. I don't bother with the single player generally as my game time is relatively limited and I really enjoy MP.

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

I have Killzone 2. Single player alone is worth $11, imo. I can't speak for the MP because I've never tried it, but I'd be down for a weekly thing if other people picked it up. According to reviews, the online part is supposed to be it's strong point.

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

Wind knocked my power out last night. Sorry I missed it, Cruz.

I have about 350 hours clocked in Metal Gear Online. It was pretty much my only game for 2+ years and I loved it. Not many maps, but it is a lot of fun if you enjoy stealth games.

I wouldn't mind getting together and checking out Onslaught mode in BFBC2 sometime. Just need 4 players to commit.

I don't know if I pushed enough for it or if the interest isn't there. I may push next week for it before the new map packs hit.

Tried Onslaught the other night for a round or two. It was pretty fun.

If anyone is interested I threw Killzone 3 up on next Wednesday for the early adopters / renters to try out the multiplayer.

Re: Return of the Weekly Rotating Games Night (PS3)

I've just picked up BFBC2, have MGS4, CoD:BO, Burnout, Uncharted 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Little Big Planet.

I'll try to make any night where those games are on the calendar-- though I've been a bit inconsistent lately because I've been pulling some long hours while trying to get a new job.

Good list right there!

BFBC2 is a given...every Friday.

Itching to play some Burnout.

Nice to see another person with MGS4. Make sure you get the latest update - 1.36. I can't stress this enough - the update is slow. I'm thinking Monday March 7th will be the next MGS4 night since there seem to be a handful who are interested. After that (3/9) maybe some KZ3 (depending on demand/turnout) or Burnout.
