Re: Dead Island
LOL!
Is anyone playing in the PS3?
BTW, really loving this game.
As the team is still working on fixing the Savegame-Issues some PS3 Users are experiencing, we would like to offer these players a workaround solution in the meantime.
Before starting the game, please make sure to disconnect from PSN. This should resolve the issue. If playing Co-Op online, the games savegame function should work fine.
Please be aware there is no guarantuee this will work for everyone.
Many thanks for your understanding.

For the two other people here that are playing this on PC, I found this really useful tool:
http://www.theplaywrite.com/tools-an...to-edit-files/
It lets you play with a bunch of settings (many of which you can just edit yourself). Including removing bloom and desaturation. After I did that and increased shadow map size to 4096, it has made the game look so much better, not that it was bad looking to start with.
I just wish someone could figure out a quick save mod (or if the developers would just add it).

Level 12 and only Chapter 3, I guess that's still part of Act 1.

Now if only we could control the draw distance on objects. That's still one of the most detracting things about the graphics. Other than that (and MSAA support), this game is fantastic looking.
I think I'm like level 24 in Chapter 13 or so , Act 2. Something like that. Probably spent around 12-14 hours in it so far.

I just got my first Developer Mod weapon and damn that thing is nice! It's a mindblowing military knife and any time you hit an enemy with it their head explodes instantly. Makes things much, MUCH easier. Costs a lot and takes 5 diamonds, but totally worth it!

For some good natured idiocy and mayhem check out Giant Bomb's Thursday Night Throwdown featuring Dead Island. Gives a good peak at the game and LoLs to be had.

Re: Dead Island
Quick question: I'm still early in the game playing the mission where I have to find three cans of food for Sinamoi... I found one can and I gave it to him but he says he needs more (which I knew). Do I only have to get two more cans or do I have to give him all three at once? I thought I read that there was a glitch that if you don't do all three at once, the game doesn't keep track of giving him what he wants piece by piece.

They are pretty easy. Just wait for them to dash, and then do a side jump. Once they run past you, you should have enough time to keep hitting them until they die. You can only do damage to their backs, and I guess their heads as well.
I just started seeing those spitter guys. I haven't figured out a good strategy for them yet, especially in the sewers where movement is so restricted.

Re: Dead Island
Almost done with act 3 and I have to say it has been amazing...and fortunately you don't get attacked by an endless supply of zombies that kill you in two hits like some parts of act 2....

Re: Dead Island
I finished this last night...great game! I was pretty happy with the achievement gathering, but I'm playing a bit more today to try to grab another hundred or so. I did find all 72 locations, and also got the 120 collectables, so I'm happy with that.
