Agreed. That footage was some of the same footage from that leaked video I posted earlier, and a shorter version, but daaaaaamn.....nice to see it in high resolution.

Re: Battlefield 3

The last few posts comparing stats over in the regular Battlefield thread made me think of something that I've wanted since getting into Bad Company 2: The ability to view stats for individual games/rounds in the past (maybe something like the last 20). Seems pretty trivial when Call of Duty and Halo can do this, so hopefully this is something that will be in place for BF3.

Awesome. Love the destructible environments, ambient noise and no-nonsense chit chat between the squad. Obligatory "Can't Wait!!".

Re: Battlefield 3

It was cool to see all of the other previews spliced together like that, but there was barely any new footage at all. I guess I was hoping for a 12-minute preview that was all-new but I must have misunderstood what it was going to be.

Not really. BC 1 and 2 are their own series and more Hollywood than realistic. This is the Battlefield line and the first time they've done a campaign attached with it.

Re: Battlefield 3

Just saw a TV ad for this during Family Guy (I think) - little early to be running ads for a video game that doesn't come out for another 6 months, no?

Re: Battlefield 3

Yeah I saw that commercial during Family Guy. What was the music used for that commercial...a Lil' Wayne cover?

Anyway just got done watching that 12 minute long trailer and damn this game looks amazing! Going to have to get this Day 1 and have a feeling playing it is how I'll be spending a good chunk of the holiday season this year.

Modern Warfare had a commercial during the NFL draft three or four years ago. So BF isn't the first to do this.

Ooh, four years ago - so it happens all the time then... and did I say it was the first? Just stupid early.

Re: Battlefield 3

Jesus Christ, I just pointed out a time when a game had commercials more than 6 months early. Not only did I try to help out, but I also NEVER said it happens all the time nor was it the first. Remind me not to respond to your posts anymore, Sybil.

Yeah I know but still need to play them.

BTW the 10minute [description] preview is on Xbox live. I downloaded it but haven't watched it to see what they cut or different about it.

Re: Battlefield 3

These videos are all well and good for showing off the visuals. But I really want to see some multiplayer footage. Can we expect the same level of visual fidelity? Are we going to get much more 'real' urban areas this time around, or will it be like BC2 where there are more or less the same buildings over and over. And how big will the maps be?? Something like Heavy Metal from BC2 sucks with only 20 players, but with 64 it would be oh so epic.

Re: Battlefield 3

Over at Teamxbox they have up footage from out pals in Europe, EA PWNED, with a 17 minute special on Battlefield 3. Behind scenes, Dev comments, video, audio, maps, weapons, past BF games and the Frostbite 2 engin. Pretty interesting and leaves you just shaking your head...

Yah same Turd. The video had cool BF3 footage. The hosts were a little cheesy.

It's still strange that no console footage has been shown yet.

Love how they announced that they'll be offering the same services as Call of Duty "Elite", except for free. EA is going after Activision hard with this game.

Yep...COD opened a can of worm on this pay service and the folks over at EA will ride this till day of release. I wouldn't put it past them to conjure up some off the wall trailer like Bulletstorm making some fun of it. You can put that in the bank...
