Wow, this sale is pretty awesome. Too bad I own most of the titles, but I'm in for Muramasa and a couple of others. Still no space, though, time to upload some saves and delete.
I'm going to grab DOA 5; it's a game I've been waiting to go free, but for $10, I can go ahead and grab it. I'm thinking about getting Soul Sacrifice, not sure yet... BTW : Everyone should get Touch My Katamari for that price. It's just what you'd expect, but unlike the iOS and PSP versions, this is a fully functional, fully controllable version of the game and just as wacky as the other "cannon" versions. Plus you can pinch and stretch your Katamri now. Yippie. |

That's the thing, isn't it? One free Vita game a month (not always a full game though) and not a ton of Vita games out there -- odds are some of these will go free at some point (and a couple already have). For $10, I could live with one of the games later going free. Close to $20? That hurts a little

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
The memory card thing is definitely a problem. I have an 8 GB card, and I'm down to one or two big games, and maybe three smaller ones. Instead of making me consider buying a card, it makes me consider not buying games. If a 64 GB card were $40-$50, I'd have gotten a bigger card, and bought more games.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Before you could upload game saves it was even worse, but still what a pain to have to delete a 4 GB file and then re-download it later. I played Ninja Gaiden Sigma when it went free on PS Plus and played it a bit, then had to delete the huge file for space concerns and haven't bothered to re-download it again. Too much of a hassle and too big a file.
For those interested, I bought that Silent Hill game in the last sale for this same price. It's a smallish file (1.5 GB) and while it's not great, it's pretty good. Plays Diablo style. Certainly not scary, but does have a sense of humor with many knowing nods to the series, and the annoyances that it launched with(losing an hour of gameplay if you died) have been nicely fixed with the patch. Now it's a pretty decent game for the (sale) price. |
re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Just back up the games to a PC, then you won't have to download it again.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
You can use the Content manager to move games & save data back and forth to your PC. Unless you need all your games on your Vita at once, its a fine solution for not having a gigantic memory card.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Is there a step by step for that?

I picked the TV show theme song, duh. I used to watch that one as a kid.

PS Vita Summer Select: Four New Indies Get PS Plus Discounts Summer is winding down, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to. To keep your summer fun going, we’ve selected four games launching over the next four weeks to be part of PS Vita Summer Select, our new PlayStation Store event. PS Plus members will receive a 20% discount on each game during its launch week, and — best of all — all four games are Cross-Buy for PS Vita and PS3. Over the next four weeks, we’re shining the spotlight on some great independent developers by bringing you a new indie title each week. Check out some of the most unique gaming experiences coming to PS Vita, including Derek Yu’s beloved Spelunky, and two-button fighter Divekick. The first game drops tomorrow, so prepare to spend some serious time with your PS Vita! No need to worry if you don’t have a PS Vita because all four PS Vita Summer Select titles are Cross-Buy for PS Vita and PS3! PS Plus members can take advantage of the launch week discounts on both the PS Vita and PS3 versions of each game. Here’s the full line-up of games: PS Vita Summer Select Release Date Game Title Regular Price PS Plus Price Launch Week 8/20 Divekick $9.99 $7.99 8/20 through 8/26 8/27 Spelunky $14.99 $11.99 8/27 through 9/2 9/3 KickBeat $9.99 $7.99 9/3 through 9/9 9/10 Dragon Fantasy: Book II $14.99 $11.99 9/10 through 9/16 |
re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
Personally, I'm interested in Kick Beat, which looks like fun and is made by the venerable Zen studios. There's going to be a lot of confusion with Divekick which comes out tomorrow and is a very different Vita fighting game.
Also FYI, the complete (so far) Walking Dead Telltale collection comes out on Vita (including the 400 days DLC) for a whopping $24.99. No it won't be a Cross Buy or a Cross-Save title |
re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
$199 on Amazon...not sure if permanent price drop or matching retail at Target...probably both.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
BestBuy has it for $199 as well
|
re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
I wouldn't jump then. Probably will be a nice bundle for the holidays with a game and maybe even a small memory card.

re: Official PS Vita / PlayStation TV Thread
I was thinking of picking one up but realize Sony is probably planning to release a new model and the sale is just to clear inventory.

Did anyone pick up Dragon's Crown? The Gamespot review makes it sound really awesome. And, worth asking the question, get it for the Vita or the PS3?
Edit: Ah, screw it. Ordered it on the Vita. Anyone else who gets it should hit me up for some co-op via wifi. |

I strongly, strongly doubt that. This isn't an iPhone; there isn't a new model every year. Besides (unlike the 3DS and its tiny, headache-inducing 3D screen) there isn't much to improve on with the hardware, except things they could take out to make it cheaper (like 3G). What improvements were made over the life of the PSP? Very little, besides a brighter screen (which certainly isn't needed here). They dropped the price to sell more units. Not a surprise to anyone.
Now I have no doubt that they used the price drop sell more units. I mean that's what happens with all consoles eventually. But you also have to remember that with the PS4 coming out, and the increased amount of crossplay there will be with it, that's a possible selling point as well. I think a 4G version is not out of the question at this point. But if they really want to build the install base, they'd slash the prices on those memory cards to decent levels. |
