Not as bad as my long beard coming across as vomit across the front of my shirt.

It didn't know how to handle my long hair at all. Also, since my basement is slightly dark my skin tone was really dark in some places and in others I was my normal avoids the sun glowing white self. I looked like a weird zebra.

I believe it offers everyone a ponytail. I have a shaved head and it offered one to me.

You are right - it did offer a pony tail. But I don't wear my hair in a pony tail so I declined. I see why the program did though - it can't map long hair at all.

I was impressed with my daughter's nightgown print was very accurately represented. She has this pink thing she loves to wear with Santa, snowmen, and reindeer on it (yes, I know it's June and 100 degrees outside) and all of that was clearly visible.

I was wondering if it tried to scan the shirt. I had on my Dark Tower tee but what came up on the avatar just seemed like a generic print.

Both the "scan me in" and the "bobblehead" app rendered me with no mouth. Something like this:

Very creepy.

It scanned my shirt in just fine. I was wearing (go figure) a Rock Band shirt, so it was just black with the RB logo on there. Maybe your shirt had too much stuff going on?

There is actually a Kinect game that my family is looking forward to -- an XBLA one in fact.

Looks pretty shoddily made, but my kids love that show and this is actually a smart use of the Kinect, as it's a game that wouldn't be possible to play with any other set-up.

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic. ;-) However, I am really waiting for it. My daughters are going to love this! Even though I'm sure it's just going to be an "ad" for Disney and maybe not much gameplay. The kids will still love it though.

The Disneyland hub should be impressive, but it being a collection of mini-games sounds pretty weak.

Re: Official Kinect Discussion Thread: Look Ma! No games! Part I

Gave the Gunstringer demo a spin last night. I got interrupted to play some CoD, but what I played was pretty fun(played to the giant stringy blow up boss). The controls had a Rez vibe to them.

Sucks that it's a retail game now. I didn't grab Fruit Ninja so that may soften the blow, but I have nothing else to buy this Fall so I might be down for it.

I was pleasantly pleased with Gunstringer. I played up to the alligator wrestler dude where you have to fist fight him. It controlled really well and I liked how there are different things to do (gun fighting, platforming, brawling). Very fun so far and definitely thinking of picking it up but will probably wait for a sale since I'm cheap.

I don't know if you are down with K-mart, but Josh hinted on CAG about a post launch deal.

FYI - Rise of Nightmares is actually a decent little title.

Third XBLA game for Kinect hit today : Leedmees for Kinect. I know nothing about it. Here's the trailer:
<iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/W9YYPAhS4Us" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Looks more like a tech demo than a game, but whatever.

They need to come up with a Game Library option on the Kinect hub. You could direct launch Fruit Ninja Kinect from the main hub for a few weeks, then Hole in the Wall came out and now the only way to launch Fruit Ninja is with a controller, which sort of defeats the purpose of the Kinect hub.

Any special deals for Gunstringer coming this week? My kid and I liked the demo and he also wants that Fruit Ninja came so I figured I will likely pick it up.

Yeah I might have to pick that up as well. My boy's played the demo about five times now, and he keeps asking for Fruit Ninja too, so that would help. The lumberjack/gator scene bothered me a little bit, although I know the game is T.
Haven't seen any deals for it except for when it was 3 cents off at Amazon a week or so ago.

Has anyone had a chance to try the Nyko Zoom? Release date is in a couple days. I've never been happy with Nyko products. But this one looks interesting and I hate having to rearrange my furniture to play Kinect.
