Finish the Companion mission, and she'll reappear, either in Dragonreach or at your house if you buy Breezehome.

I did finish the mission but don't see her anywhere. Weird.

I just figured that out. I was flipping pages

I got a quest from opening a book, too.

Great game

Posted earlier, but always funny. I thought it was a mod at first til I witnessed it myself.

You don't need to keep books. Once you open them you'll either learn the spell, skill, or get the quest. After that you can dump the book or sell it.

Actually for spell tomes I think the book is used up by learning the spell.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

A very spoilery question concerning the Companions. Do not read until you've been shown the secret room under the Skyforge

Spoiler:
Is there any downside to becoming a werewolf? From a gameplay perspective, I'm all "Oh, hell yeah! I get to tear shit up in Skyrim!" but from a role playing perspective, I'm all "Dude, I just met you and you want to do what to me? This guild is psycho!" I wound up passing on the whole werewolf thing, at least for now.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

So after having The game exit straight to my desktop i went on another forum and lots of other people are experiencing the same issue.

Here's a fix that fixed everything for me. The game hates anything above 98HZ in audio. Turn it down to 48 or 44. 16 or 24 bit in windows control panel.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

After logging in 14 hrs 22min. this weekend this is without a doubt Bethesdas best game to date. I can't believe a game with such a small file size (7gb) could be this big and vast. I think i've only done two main quests and a few side quests so far.

This might be the first Bethesda game i actually finish

btw anyone catch the Northern Lights? Simply breathtaking

Weird. I thought Oblivion was overrated and not fun at all.

Maybe it's because Skyrim feels more like Fallout 3 to me. I wonder if the same team worked on both games.

Oh and I encountered my first dragon. Wasn't hard at all. I was expecting this epic battle. It took longer to kill a Mammoth.

Well, Lydia did eventually show up again at my house. Let's see how long it takes before she gets killed.

yes they are...I almost took a pic...

I am 27 hours in, Game of the Year so far...really is amazing...

The main problem with the game is the load times. Would it have been so bad to be able to fast travel from inside a building? It forces you to go outside...load for 20 seconds...then pic your fast travel location....load 20 seconds..not that big of a deal if you are going to stay at your spot for a time, but if you are turning in a bunch of missions at once...it adds up...

The loading doesn't bother me. They have the little facts that make it seem to pass by.

The in-game "3D" map is fucking joke and absolutely useless for getting around, especially up a mountain with trails that go nowhere.

and when you have over 100 locations unlocked, it gets confusing with everything hidden in white...I wish they had the option to hide some icons and they should have changed the color of towns vs dungeons.....

also clairvoyance has to be the worst spell of all time...I have followed that stupid path with only one objective highlighted and it takes me the wrong way, or to a dead end...lol..

I don't mind though some parts being hard to get to or having difficulty finding the right path because it is part of the fun...

I also don't like when you are buying from a vendor that it doesn't show your items on one side and theirs on the other so you can compare...too much back and forth.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I ended up picking this up for PC and have put in about 20 hours. Finished up the mage college quests and am working my way through the thieves guild. There are some great nods to Morrowind.

Now comes the excruciating work days where all I can think about is what missions I want to tackle when I get home.

They should at least have the option to switch to traditional 2d map.

Is that where you can learn more magic? All I have at the moment is fire. Or will more magic be unlocked with perks?
