It's out on Xbox. PS3 is later. All UK players (regardless of console) get it next week. Unknown when PC players will get it.

Do not look at this spoiler unless you want to see one of the changes before you play the Extended Cut.
Here's the new synthesis ending:

Wow.
Some good bad, some funny, some not so good.
Thoughts:
To me, control ending seems the 'best' ending honestly based with the new information, still have some fear that could take a turn for the worst, based on the voice over...
I dislike that they retconned
I liked that they filled in the gaps and answered some questions
Also the major new thing
I liked how

Re: Mass Effect 3
Anyone know how far back BioWare recommends going if you've already finished the game and want to see all the new stuff? I have a save from right before the "point of no return", but this Joystiq article says something about going back to two missions before the end. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/26/ho...t-even-sooner/
They don't go into specifics, though. Anyone have a link to someone from BioWare explaining this a little? I have a lot of saves from the last few missions and could use a little guidance to avoid wasting too much time.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Galaxy Readiness, as in the previous edition, does affect how much ending you get. My "I did everything" Shepherd got one of the long endings. My "I did the minimum" Shepherd only got a small epilogue.

But I don't see what's new during the Cerberus base mission onward. Everything seems old hat until you get to the Catalyst.
I think the 2GB limit is what forced them to go that way. I wish they could to a seperate update down the road to correct that.

Just in case you don't want to go through having to keep re-playing the ending 4 times, here are all the new endings (with a Fem-Shep):
Control:
Synthesis:
Refusal:
Destroy:
I think I like "control" the best (with "destroy" being a close 2nd) and feel that it's the most fitting ending for the series, for the way I played it anyways.

Synthesis is my favorite. But the new version of Control is all kinds of awesome. All in all, I like what they've done with the endings.
I ended up using a Citadel: The Return save file to go straight to the ending. There are quite a few changes right off the bat there,
And my actual ending was somewhat different than the one in the youtube video. For instance,

Re: Mass Effect 3
Sorry, but where is that exactly? I have a save from about 2 hours in and 2 from almost at the end, 30-some hours in. When I load the last one it says, "Attack the Elusive Man's base" or something like that. That's what I see standin at the galaxy map. I would like to see what they've done, but I'd like to get there with as little time re-doing this as possible. Thanks~

Isn't the Elusive Man's base the same as Cerberus's base?

Re: Mass Effect 3
I still don't get why Bioware says you have to start from Illusive Man's base. I honestly didn't see anything new there. I was hoping we'd get a cinematic showing
but the whole part plays out exactly the same as before. Now from Citadel: The Return onward the changes are obvious.

Crap, my Galaxy Awareness numbers are going to be low, aren't they, since I haven't played with the iphone app or multiplayer in some time? Ugh.
