Yesterday's Penny-Arcade was quite funny... and about the Kinect.

Well I caved and ordered one now I have to reorganize the TV room before it arrives. Played with one at a friend's house and it required a lot more open floorspace for two player games than I was expecting.

Loving the Kinect, and that's just Adventures. Have Dance Central and Kinectimals waiting for Christmas.

I do have a technical question. We have a projector, and I need to run an extension cord (yes, I asked this same question earlier in the thread, but here me out). I can run one cord, and Kinect works fine. However, the actual length (to be able to hide the cable) would require two, and when I hook up two, the Kinect won't work. Anyone have any suggestions? Would something like this work: http://www.amazon.com/Meters-Active-...I/ref=lh_ni_t_

Got Zumba for the Move, Gold's Gym Dance Workout for the Wii, and Dance Central for the Kinect. Going to see which one I like the most =) I'm not really into fitness games yet, but dance games sound awesome, especially since you can download new ones. I know the 360 will have a great selection, wonder about the PS3. And do you need a Gold subscription to download stuff?

Not sure anyone here will have the answer for that, may want to try avsforum. I have a projector setup as well, but all my equipment is in the front of the room near the screen (it's an apartment.)

GatorDeb -

No, you don't need a gold membership to buy new songs/dance routines in Dance Central.

I downloaded the Sonic Riders demo the other night. I didn't like it at all, it was the first Kinect game I have played that wasn't responsive like it should have been. It could just be because the demo is screwed up, who knows.

Re: Kinect: Are you buying one?

Sonic Free Riders is one of the most poorly reviewed games for the Kinect launch, I can almost assure you that it has to do with it being shit and not the demo being screwed up. Case in point: http://www.gaming-age.com/review/xbo...ic_free_riders

That said, you could also try re-tuning the Kinect tilt to get a better view of your feet.

even if I could get it to be more responsive, the game doesn't look to be very fun.

Funny and evidently not far fetched at all:

Why do they keep referring to Kinect as a console in that article?

Kinect owners : Are you still playing with it? Using it to navigate menus or watch Netflix? Are you still happy with your purchase after a month or two?

Yep still enjoying it. The wife loves Dance Central ( I do too, not gonna lie), and we just had a Christmas party where Sports and Adventures were a hit. Still lots of fun. I'm still excited for the possibilities.

I just watched the video. Who would have touching air?

Re: Kinect: Are you buying one?

Still using mine pretty regularly as well, definitely getting more use than the Wii when I first got that.

I don't use it for navigating much though as I don't have Netflix and have no reason to.

I think you mean, "why is his other hand on the desk?"

Re: Kinect: Are you buying one?

Well, my parents visited for x-mas today and brought the Kinect.

Extremely painless set-up and it is much more fun and way more responsive than the BB demo we tried a month ago. I am very impressed with it so far. Briefly played with Adventures and Dance Central. My 6 year old has been on Kinectimals for over an hour an half and I will basically have to drag him away from it. Needless to say, it's a hit. Glad I only have one kid as I can see many kids fighting over whose turn it is.

But as many have said, you really need a good piece of room to play with it. I am lucky with my set-up but I can see some extremely disappointed kids come x-mas morning when families realize they don't have enough room.

I'm tempted to grab this with the Brunswick Bowling game from TRU. Has anybody played that yet?

Porn star geek girls on Twitter are posting vids of themselves playing Kinect in the nude. This could be the best marketing gimmick ever.
