Ah hell, the Linkin Park DLC was the only thing I had really been excited for in a while. That blows.

Would Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy (Full Album) be the greatest Rock Band DLC ever?

Discuss.

Houses of the Holy would be the greatest Led Zeppelin DLC ever. Toss in "So I've Been Loving You" and "How Many More Times" and I'd be set for Zeppelin.

Greatest DLC ever would be Exile On Main St. by The Rolling Stones or Lodger by David Bowie.

I don't know for certain, but HMX has claimed things don't exist before when leaks like this happened.. Only to end up releasing the thing on the same day that the leak said it would.

There is an interesting free double header concert coming to the KY State Fair in a few weeks and the first thing I thought of was RB DLC:

Spoiler:

I'd be first in line for that DLC... "I'm a lumberjack, baby!"

I would buy that Slaughter album immediately.

Nice, I would certainly be in line for either of those as DLC. Getting down Dupree's voice though would certainly be a challenge. (But I would be 100% up for it)

There was one Slaughter song up on RBN a while back, but it kind've disappeared. It was charted by the EMI group (which priced all their songs at $3), and I think they just gave up. It's been months since I've seen anything out of them.

Slaughter would indeed be fun to play in Rock Band.

I think if they can get LZ, it will be as a dedicated game at this point. If that happens, yes, there could be a full album download of HOTH. But, some songs would already be in the game. I think they'd do LZ IV first though.

With Beatles barely cracking a million copies and Green Day being an absolute bomb, I don't see many artist-only games anymore outside of maybe a dedicated track pack like AC/DC.

The Beatles game only sold a million copies? Across all platforms?

I'm sure it's sold more since it's been in the bargain bin, but I know it barely cracked a million in the first month. Then it wasn't on the NPDs anymore, so who knows.

...And yes, that was across all platforms.

I remember being made fun of back in 6th grade (mid-90's) for wearing an Abbey Road shirt, kids just thought The Beatles were old people music. Sounds like the youth hasn't wised up.

That's a shame. I'm sure if it was a Miley Cirus/Jonas Brothers music game, it would have sold triple that amount.

That sucks

And the Green Day one was pretty mediocre at best.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

So Joystiq and Kotaku both have a little in-depth review of the keyboard trainer and mode. They said there are quite a few songs (or snippets, more likely) in the trainer. I'm assuming it's like the drum trainers in RB2/Beatles/Green Day and there's 80 or so exercises to do.

They said they had a legitimate concern that they keyboard lanes are too small, since it shows like 10 on the screen at a time. I think they're just pussies, and you'll get used to it after one or two songs. Your thoughts?

Yeah, really, I mean doesn't everyone play on a 12-foot projection screen in a classroom?

I only do that once or twice a month. At home I don't think I'd have any problems either, and I'm only on a 42" LCD.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Having only seen the charts online, I can see how it could be a problem, especially in a full band setting. Distance from screen will really come into play on it. At this point, you kind of have to defer to the people that have played it and recognize that it'll get easier over time.

I dunno, you probably should upgrade to a 65" Plasma just in case.

I told my wife that skimping on the 60" rather than buying the 70" was going to come back and bite us. Looks like we're finally getting our comeuppance.

I find it funny that they priced their songs $1 more than everyone else, and when they didn't sell well they just seemed to say "Well, this RBN isn't very popular. Not worth doing". They never seemed to realize that maybe their songs were selling badly because they were $3.

What I find odd is that instead of just not releasing any more songs, they also pulled the ones they already did from the store. Right before I finally broke down and decided I would buy 'Bohemian Like You" too...
