The multiplayer is a whole lot of meh. Controls are clumsy and slow and the environments are too hard to navigate to make use of the nooks and crannies that (I assume) are there. And playing as the aliens is just a waste of time. I just played two rounds. I'm done. Pfft.

Dead Space 2 Demo Incoming

With less than two months until the release of Dead Space 2, fans are understandably getting excited -- and antsy. Luckily, EA and Visceral Games sympathize with those waiting to dive into Isaac Clarke's latest adventure and announced today that a Dead Space 2 demo is set for this month. North American gamers can grab the demo off of the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on Dec. 21, 2010, while Europeans can only get the demo from PSN starting on Dec. 22, 2010.

That seems like a really good thing that it's coming not only before launch, but so far before launch. Guess they're wanting to give you a reason to keep your gift cards beyond the 26th.

I really wish PSN would put out demos in a more time appropriate fashion i.e. before a game is released

that last trailer looks fantastic. i am wondering if putting the demo out so early means that EA is really really confident that they have a winner. i sure hope so!

The demo was great, and my concerns for the zero-g controls were put aside. I have the CE ordered for PC, so I can hopefully take advantage of NV Surround - 5990x1200 on 3x24" monitors is nice.

I just played the demo and it was alright. I might get this when it's $20, but the demo pretty much made me cancel my pre-order.

That sucks, not sure I understand why. It was the same gameplay as the first game, and it was all material we've seen for months in promos.

I haven't seen any previews, so I had forgotten how the gameplay was.

It just wasn't as fun as I remember. I never finished the first one, got to some worm boss that kept owning me, even on easy mode.
