Not really.

Modern Warfare 2 is a better shooter than Halo 3, what's your point?

I thought it was the guy from TLAD.

Hmmm, I might have to look into that.

You might get lucky and find one inside the box.

The online glitches in this game are bad. Very bad. Private free roam is fun, and works fine. As soon as I went into Public free roam, I started disappearing, my weapons were floating, and then the enemies starting disappearing as well.

I like a challenge, but invisible enemies is too much. I had to turn it off. I hope Rockstar fixes this fast.

You suck at analogies - but you missed my point as I wasn't being that overarching. My point is that the things each of these sandbox games do well, they do better than the other game. RDR has better story, characters, missions, etc. JC2 has a bigger, more dense sandbox with a better set of tools and toys in order to get the most out of it. If you blend the best parts of both, you'll have the perfect sandbox game.

What gets me with horse shoes is the wind. To aim properly you've gotta press the zoom button, I forget which it is. Aim in that mode, then go back and toss it normally.

You're right. Marston needs a grappling hook. What is this lasso bullshit?

I loved Just Cause 2. It was a blast. It doesn't hold a candle to Red Dead Redemption. The story is better, the characters better, the diaglogue better, the controls better, the gameplay better, etc.

Just Cause 2 beats RDR in a couple areas. Those are size of map, and graphics.

If you're talking about something you toss in real fast before you go to work, then maybe Just Cause 2 is more fun. But with RDR's MP, even that is a debate.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Did you know that you can lasso things more than just people and horses? Give it a shot on the deer.

When I see the larger animals I'll try it on them as well.

EDIT:

You can do it to dogs too. They don't much like it either.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Those 360 vs. PS3 screenshots are nuts. I can't recall the last time I saw one game look so different when compared on the two systems. I was tempted to get it for the PS3 so my Dad could try the game out on his PS3 over the summer but it look like I'll just have him try it on the 30 when he visits next.

I think they were fake. It looks fine on the PS3.

I will try it

Have yet to see a bear yet, though.

I can believe that since the difference just seems WAY too extreme to be possible.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Well, I finally installed the game and I immediately jumped into free roam. I haven't done anything yet, because I'm stuck at the create a character menu. Everything I'm cycling through is invisible. Anyone else have this problem?

It's working now. It's called "Outfitter", press select and then square (or start--multiplayer--outfitter).

You can only see a difference when they freezeframe it, it's really not a big deal at all.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

What the hell...you can't swim?

This is way too glitchy right now. It's either I'm invisible, my donkey is invisible, my gun is invisible or all of the above. And whenever I'm in a free roam session, there's only ever 1 or 2 people with me. I try to make it towards them but they log out.

And most importantly, JC2 beats RDR in overall fun - not unlike how Saints Row 2 beats GTA4 in overall fun.

Are you talking about these?

I don't think there's too big a difference at all - what difference there is had to be pointed out for me to notice and the rest in unnoticeable unless you're looking at an exact screen shots side-by-side, and even there it's negligible.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Personally, I thought Just Cause 2 was an overrated snooze fest. It was a lot of the same stuff over and over. I got sick of it after a few days. Whereas I can see myself playing RDR for weeks, and then coming back to it after I finish other games.

It wasn't rated that highly, was it?

In your opinion. You're not going to seriously argue someone on the internet over whose opinion is righ... oh wait

I don't think coming onto the RDR thread to argue that JC2 is a better game is smart.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I loved Just Cause 2, but I really, after only 5 hours into the single player, have no way of saying if Red Dead is better...I have a feeling that this game is just going to get better and better, while I found Just Cause 2 got a little thin at the end.....This game has a lot of meat to it, while I found Just Cause to be more candy...

Some of these early missions have already had more emotional weight than anything this year outside of Mass Effect 2....

WTF with dying in water...really though...

Also, it is going to be hard tearing myself away from the single player to get into MP for a while...
