So anybody find out which wild horses are the fastest?

I lost the one the rancher gives you after the mission, but found another one later on. It seems to be on the fast side.

You are not alone. I find myself wishing for a seriously-sprained ankle or something where I'd have to stay home ("keep the leg elevated") but wouldn't feel particularly sick or in too much pain. Just a few days would be so sweet...

Just wanna point out, for unbridled open-world fun and mayhem, Just Cause 2 still beats the pants off of this game.

In certain areas it does. However, the actions in JC2 become repetitive after just a few hours. Go to a pueblo, rape and pillage said pueblo, collect all of the items = 100%. The missions were cool but it just seems that in RDR there are more dynamics to how the game plays out.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I haven't read through the last 3 or 4 pages of threads from overnight and this morning to see if this is a repeat, so apologies in advanced.

It seems I got a 2nd code for Golden Guns directly from Amazon. Has anyone else received an email in addition to the card that was in the box?

It was by hanging rock right? I thought I found the right spot, but no option to dig or whatever popped up so I left.

Also - FUCK YOU Rockstar for releasing a game that crashed on me not once, but three times in the first couple hours.

Yep, got another code this morning. Gave it to a buddy.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

All last night, I thought the actor who played John Marston sounded familiar, but when I looked him up on IMDB, I didn't see any credits I recognized. This morning, it suddenly hits me -- he sounds sort of like Bill Paxton.

I really thought it was John DiMaggio until I looked up the credits.

I know what you mean. I considered driving my car into the freeway divider this morning.

YES! The first thing I thought when I heard his voice was "That really sounds like Bill Paxton, but I know it isn't."

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I assumed it WAS Bill Paxton. Surprised to hear it's not actually him. Maybe it's just me but I don't find that the voice matches the character very well.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

So if anyone who received multiple exclusive content codes needs somebody to offload one to, I would be much obliged.

When I first started seeing the commercials for this game I thought Marston was voiced by Timothy Olyphant. Then after spending time with the game it didn't sound much like him anymore.

At first I thought Marston sounded like Thomas Haden Church, but after playing for a bit, I quickly realized it was not.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I agree - the main character's voice sounds different than it should, for some reason.

Also, I confirmed that you can use your camp site anywhere to save the game (and fast-travel to previously visited locations). It's not a one-time use item, either, so yay.

I redeemed the Golden Guns code from Amazon and the guns are now, indeed, golden.

Also, skinning animals while wearing the Gentleman's Attire is pretty funny in an incongruous way.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I thought that Marston was voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen but after an hour or so I realized he wasn't.

At first, I thought Marston sounded like Don Knotts, but after playing for a bit, I quickly realized that I was watching The Shakiest Gun in the West.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

If any of you gets an extra code from Amazon I'd love to have it.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who assumed that Bill Paxton was doing the voice work in this game. It sounds almost exactly like him to me.

EDIT:

Oh man, just did another new awesome thing. My horse was tied up to a hitchin' post and I was on the second or third floor of a building. I found where my horse was, lined it up just right, and jumped of, landed right in the saddle, and we went riding off.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

So far I've been horsejacked (shot the guy in the back), had a man run towards me asking for help while being chased by the law (didn't help him), and saw a guy cutting up a whore (killed him). This game is awesome.

I'm excited to play this game now, but of course I have to wait for the game, and my system to be repaired. Damn you all! Stop playing until I can.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

And Amazon knocked $6 off today and kept the $20 credit. I feel abused

Scratch that, the Twitter Twit that tweeted that was wrong. The credit isn't there. Carry on

I just checked and it was still showing at 56.99 with no gift card. Weird.
