3D Land is much better than NSMB 2, however I still enjoyed NSMB 2.

So anyone else hungry for Shovel Knight already??

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Finished up Zelda tonight. Managed to get all the items/upgrades prior to tackling the final boss. Ended only missing 3 heart pieces, so I'm hunting them down now. One is Octoball... fuck that game.

Also do you not get to keep your red tunic after beating the game? That's kinda weak.

Anybody grab Kirby? My local Target was out and I wasn't feeling ambitious.

Yeah; there's no cleared game save. You can go into the dungeon to get the tunic, then go out and save. That's what I ended up doing after beating it just so my save would have it.

What's keeping you from just downloading it?

In our case, we have two 2DS and a 3DS floating around the house so we prefer cartridges if it's a game that everyone will want to play. My son has his own 2DS and he'll get digital versions of those that only he would want to play.

Ahh, didn't think of that. Great idea.

Also, when I got finished playing I thought I'd hop on the eShop and buy a A Link to the Past since I haven't played it since launch week on the SNES. Lo and behold, it's not there. Seriously Nintendo, wtf?

But if you download it, there's no chance of them snapping it in half...

Anyone get Mario Golf yet? It's been getting great reviews and with GCU,it's only $24 at launch. But I already have Hot Shots Golf for the Vita and really if I really need another portable golf game...

You need it. It's fantastic. If you liked the Gamecube version it's a no brainer.

Downloaded Mario Golf the other night. Has anyone here bothered to set up a tournament yet?

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I've been poking around the eshop trying to find something to keep me playing my 3DS. After finishing Zelda:ALBW, I wanted A Link to the Past. That's a no show on the shop so maybe Ocarina? $40? Fuck that. I'm new to the 3DS so maybe Luigi's Mansion? I loved the one on GCN. $40? Er...no. Alright, Yoshi's Island looked cool. $40. Kirby? $40 Are you kidding me? Is Nintendo high or something? $40 for a digital handheld game that's tied to the device is asinine, IMO. Searches for Super Metroid, F-Zero and WaveRace came up empty...but hey, there are about 5 dozen games featuring Mario.

Also, stumbled upon a Pac-Man & Galaga collection with 3 games from each series (originals, Championship and Legions, as well as two others). I'm definitely down for that. Two perfect games to have digitally accessible at all times. Where do I pay? Oh look, "Look for it at retailers." no digital version. W.T.F?

Are the Zelda: Oracle games worth the price of admission?

Absolutely. They are a much better, fleshed-out version of Link's Awakening. Some of the best Zelda games IMO.

Sweet! Sold! Which one would you recommend first Moopher?

*edit - actually, never played Links Awakening either.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I prefer Ages, but I think Seasons is little easier to get into initially. You can't go wrong with either. The best part is the code system between games.

Link's Awakening is such an excellent game! Play it soon!

SNES games aren't available to buy on the 3DS eShop. No GBA either.

The Pac-Man Museum compilation that came out a few months ago on the consoles and PC was supposed to be out for the Nintendo eShop as well, but it was canceled due to "development issues." I don't know who was more to blame, Bandai Namco or Nintendo. Sucks that the only digital Pac-Man on the 3DS are those horrible NES and Game Boy versions. I wound up getting the Namco Museum DS compilation for about ten bucks off of eBay. It's decent.

Yeah, Namco Museum is a great game for portables but I don't want to keep track of a cartridge just to play Pac-Man from time to time. No Sale!

Honestly, I just prefer having a physical copy. I'm stuck in the 2000's that way.

When it comes to digital distribution, so is Nintendo.

How so? Does Sony or Xbox offer discounts when you opt for Digital over Physical on day one?

It's ridiculous in this day and age I can't play my purchased games on two systems I own. In addition, transferring digital content from one system to another proved just about impossible for me (though I know it's supposedly possible).

Yes, Sony does with most Vita games (all of their self-published games and most other ones).
