Yes, Sony does with most Vita games (all of their self-published games and most other ones).
The best thing that has happened in video games in the past year is the Sony sales on the PS3. With two discount structures (one regular, one for plus) the sales have been incredible. I bought Red Dead Redemption for $4.99the other day. I haven't touched a Microsoft system in probably 2 years, so I don't know if they offer discounts, but Nintendo is piss fucking poor at discounts. When they do have sales its only a couple of dollars off, games never drop in price, and for a digital game to be attached to a system is a complete shame. I love Nintendo, I love my Wii U and my 3DS, but they need to get their shit together digitally.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Rewards for Gold and Platinum members are up at Club Nintendo. They're all digital downloads. No physical rewards this year.

Platinum

Game & Wario (Wii U)
NES Remix (Wii U)
EarthBound (Wii U)
Dr. Luigi (Wii U)
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (3DS)
Fluidity: Spin Cycle (3DS)
Dillon's Rolling Western (3DS)
Mario & Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move (3DS)

Platinum + Gold

Ice Climber (Wii U)
Kid Icarus (Wii U)
Super Mario Bros. (Wii U)
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Wii U)
Donkey Kong 3 (3DS)
Wario Land II (3DS)
Metroid (3DS)
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (3DS)

I got DKCR3D. At over 17,000 blocks, it's the third-biggest 3DS game in the eShop in terms of block size. Took almost an hour to download.

Any recommendations on these? As a recent 3DS owner I only have Zelda and Mario 3D Land; I'm not really interested in Pokemon, and Tomodachi Life doesn't look like something i'd be in to either. I'm leaning towards Bravely Default and something else...

Wouldn't mind Kirby but nothing else looks appealing (already have Yoshi, which is good BTW).

It looks like Best Buy also offers the 3DS games as a digital download. I hope those will work with the B1G1 promotion .

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I dunno, Bravely Default really got tedious and boring after a bit. I can't really recommend it, it initially had some good steam, just never got that interesting.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I've heard good things about Kirby and Mario Golf, and I thought a lot of people consider Bravely Default great. I've heard mostly mediocre things about Yoshi, so I think i'm ruling that one out. Leaning towards Golf since I've already been playing a platformer in 3D Land.

Bravely Default is what I'm getting, with the new Zelda which I don't own yet. Great deal, thanks for posting.

Anyone play Rune Factory 4? I've heard good things about that game and was thinking of picking it up. Seems like one of the more expansive 3DS titles.

It is possible. I own a launch-day red XL with my Ambassador content transferred over. I gave my first small 3DS to my nephew.

Mario Golf is great. Lots to unlock. I'm looking at Kirby or Bravely Default for me and Tomodachi Life for my wife.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I'll be getting Bravely Default, but I'm having a tough time on the free game. It's either going to be Pokemon X/Y, Kirby or Mario Golf. I like platform games, but I was never interested in Kirby as I am in Mario, Donkey Kong, or Rayman. I find golf to be boring, but I do like Mario and crew. Pokemon X/Y seems to be the strongest of the bunch, but I rarely played Gold.

When does this deal end, by the way? That ad doesn't say. Is it for one week, like Matt says?

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

It does not look like digital versions are included in the sale unfortunately. Also, it is not letting me buy two copies of the same game. I was hoping to maximize the discounts a little better.

Any chance Best Buy replenishes its stock this week? The only games I want in the deal are unavailable and can not be shipped.

Grabbed Kirby and Mario golf for $28 + tax, free shipping. As rarely as I play my 3DS, that's enough for me.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I picked up BD and Mario Golf online yesterday. About $42 after tax for both.

Edit: I received shipment info for each but they're on separate tracking #'s. A little annoying but better than one being delayed.

I read that people on CAG expect a restock...but that hasn't been my personal experience. Scooped up Tomodachi Life, Kirby, Yoshi, and Mario Golf.

I might be able to get the Zelda 3DS XL with Zelda for $250. Good deal?

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Not unless you are dying to have a Gold XL. Target just had a sale that you got a $30 gift card with purchase. So you could have gotten the Yoshi one for $200 + $30 gift card.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Plus there are numerous times in the last year where the XL has been discounted. A few deals as low as $130 but I'd say on average around $150-160. If you want that Zelda XL, $259 is fine, because it will only increase for the foreseeable future.

Apparently you can price match this deal at Walmart as long as you have a copy of the Best Buy ad with you. People on NeoGaf were having success getting Bravely Default that way.
