Speaking of which, does anyone have any tips for hitting?
My starting pitching is fine and keeps me in most games, but I can't score runs for shit. I had started to turn things around and got back to 8-8 on my season but then I proceeded to get shut out 3 games in a row. It is very frustrating.

I dunno. I could hit alright in '08 (the last version I played)... but this time around, well, not so much. I don't know what changed, but yes, it's a little frustrating.

I guess we will be the league of Impotent Offense.

Sounds like my kind of league! I'm looking forward to starting next week, but I haven't been practicing that much. There's always so much golf...err...work, yeah, to do once the weather breaks.

This should be fun. I've pitched through 3 full seasons with a RTTS starter, but have never hit other than the occasional pitcher at bat. Offensively challenged may be an understatement on my side.

How many games will the league last? What sort of commitment would I be looking at? I really want to play but I just don't want to commit only to never show up.

i think before the league is created we should know: how long the league is gonna be, how many games in a series, and the time-frame given to complete the games.

I'm going to make the league as short as I can given the number of teams that we have. Someone else stated that you have 72 hours to complete a game with an opponent. I'll post more information shortly.

I'm making it as short as possible. There will be two divisions with one game apiece against each opponent. There will be a 7 day window to complete the game with your opponent to give more time to each of us. The setting will be Veteran and the pitching is set to classic. It says that we will have 17 games and 7 weeks to complete them. There will also be 8 teams that can make the playoffs and I assume that they will be one game playoffs since the series are only one game against each opponent. Besides, if we run through this league quickly and enjoy it we can always start another more lengthy one.

*There was a problem with the server in creating the league so I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow after the server repairs to get this set up. However, I'm still going to use the same setup mentioned above unless I'm told otherwise.

do u know if we can choose what type of baserunning controls we wanna use? and if we can choose between auto or assist?

I'm still open for suggestions on the pitching interface as you can either use classic or meter. What do you guys suggest? I'll go with the majority. I'm just wanting to get this going to play against some human opponents as I'm tiring of playing against the CPU.

Are you sure the math is right? If you have 7 days to play a game and there are 17 games, that's 17 weeks, and that's indeed what it's showing me when I go to check out the league options.

I haven't even tried classic pitching yet. I would prefer meter.

Meter pitching gets my vote. That's the default style and it's the only thing I have ever used on here.
And I sure hope you can choose the type of baserunning controls.

Metered pitching, assist baserunning and no mic here.

I'll try and set this up again tonight. Hopefully they have the huge server maintenance done and we can get this started.
