Wow, I never realized before that you could listen live to the other league games. I'm listening to Scott and Bluthswede go at it right now.
Maybe it's common knowlege to the rest of you but I just discovered it and think it's cool. You just go into our league lobby and click
on someone if they are playing and select sportscast live.

Yea I discovered that the other day. It's pretty cool, reminds me of the spectator mode in Table Tennis. I never expect them to allow anyone to actually watch the games though. The show can barely handle the connection of 2 people playing on fast internet speeds.

I don't know how we had a green connection bar the whole time. It seemed like every time you released a pitch the lag would jump. I threw a few really shitty pitches from the lag too, including the 2 guys I hit because of it. It really is frustrating.

I felt the same say. The way Weaver was throwing I couldn't pick up the pitch at all because there was a jump just after he released the pitch. Every damn thing looked the same. I saw the release and then the "impact" with the strike zone. It came in and out, but I can't hit to begin with so I don't need that shit on top of it. Every slider he threw jumped.

I'm so very close to selling this game and eliminating this masochistic relationship.

Last years online was MUCH worse.. This years is an improvement, but thats still not saying much.

What I wish they would do is let us "dial in" the pitch ahead of time instead of tying it to the windup. Have the meter go through its cycle entirely on our end, then after that start the windup and send the result to the other end. The windup animation might still be laggy, but at least the pitching wouldn't be affected.

However, even with the lag this is far more fun than a 30 man lag free match of Call of Duty: MW2. I do wish that they would get this worked out or split up the players amongst various servers if the number of players is what is causing the lag.

Very true. Sometimes I don't understand why some online games, with massive environments and 30+ players, can be lag free... and The Show, a game that absolutely relies on freaking timing for play, can't manage it. Just in recent experience, NHL10 is typically flawless and you've got as many as 12 players connected at any given time. Sure every once in awhile you get some lag, but it doesn't ever destroy a game the way ours was disemboweled last night. I mean, I'd say 25% of the time there was some hiccup in Weaver's delivery. Most frustrating were the pauses just prior to releasing the pitch and then suddenly the ball appeared in flight. I could tell Max was seeing some of the same things with the pitches we were both swinging at. The inning before he hit the three run homer, the hiccups started on the pitching end for me too. There'd be a blip or a pause during the drawback. Once that happened there was almost no way to hit the mark without a lot of luck. The only way to hit the strike zone was to aim dead center and hope you were off just enough that it didn't go right down the middle.
