Re: Official MLB '10: The Show PS3 Online League Thread
We will be using meter pitching and the difficulty will be veteran. I will make it where we play each of the other teams in the league once and we will have two divisions. There will be 8 teams that make the playoffs and I'm almost positive that they are one and done playoffs. If I could make the playoffs a little more lengthy then I would but I think it follows the format/length that you choose for the season series. I would really like for the playoffs to be at least a best of three for each round to add to the drama. There really isn't much when it is one and done.

You can put me down for having a mic, I picked up one of the Rocketfish bluetooth ones tonight, though I am not sure how good it is. I'm not the most talkative guy though, just so you all know.

We just got back from my daughter's baseball practice and shopping afterwards. I will get this league ready to go on Friday. Please forgive me for not getting it going yet.

It will just be one game with each opponent and playoffs if you qualify. You're looking at playing 20 games or so.

I really need to know if you guys want 3, 5 or 7 days to play a game with your opponent. I think it would be better to make it less time but I would like to hear what you all think.

I think a week is too much time to be honest. Maybe 5 would be about right. I would say 3 but I could easily go a stretch of 3 days where I have to work day and night (I work 2 jobs) and not have a chance to get to my game.

Well, if you make it 7 days, it's going to make the league last for like 18 weeks, not counting playoffs. I think 7 is too long, but then I realize that some people may only be able to play on certain days. For instance, someone who can only play on the weekend may forfeit some of the games depending on how the days fall. Then again, maybe those who can't get a game in every 3-5 days shouldn't participate.
If you really want it to be 7 days for a game yet only have it take a couple of months, we could consider doing two separate leagues. With 9 teams in each, that would be 8 games total, then the top teams in each league could meet "informally" for the playoffs (or perhaps other leagues could be created later on to accommodate this).

What happens if someone doesn't play a matchup? We tried with the Madden league last season and I'd be surprised if there were more than 2 human games actually played all season.

Yeah that sucked. Especially since if you simmed with someone who didn't play their game they could still get a win against the computer. Really wasn't fair that you could bail on your game and still pull out a W.

5 days it will be. I'm guessing that we can only play one game per 5 days or is that not the case? Would we be able to schedule games with our other opponents in the league?

Any other suggestions? I'm going to give this another go in just a bit. The other day I tried to start the league and I think it wouldn't allow me to because of the server updates they were going to do.

If it's not too late throw me back in. Worse comes to worse I'll miss one game, let me know if you have a problem with that.

Re: Official MLB '10: The Show PS3 Online League Thread
I'm getting to it I promise.
I have just been busy this weekend dealing with my daughter's teams uniforms and getting equipment for the season. I am as ready as anyone else on here to get this thing jumping off. I just wish that we could schedule and play our games with several opponents within a few days time rather than a game over a period of a certain number of days.

I'm going to have to drop out before this thing even starts. Sorry everyone. Cleveland Indians are now available for anyone that wants to join.
