I was helicoptering around, found a military base on top of a cliff, with some big contraption in the middle of it. Naturally, I started blasting away at it, but a note came up saying that I had to blow it up manually. Before I knew it, my copter got blowed up, and I grappled myself to the ground, surrounded by gunfire and at least 30 grunts. I high-tailed it to the base of the tower I was trying to blow up, only to find that it goes beneath the surface for a long ways. I jump down, thankfully there's some much needed health down there. I make short work of the goons at the bottom of the basement. I manually overload the mechanism to blow. As a siren goes off, I hightail it up the walkways, shooting and grappling the goons off the platforms who are in my way. As I make it to the top, the structure is about to blow, and I'm greeted by a helicopter shooting at me, which I grapple onto and hijack as the installation below proceeds to explode, taking out all surrounding goons. Using the copter, I fire at any goons outside the blast-radius and I'm taken out again, but I parachute down and away from the base along the cliff-side to the nearby beach. All I needed was to be greeted by some bikini-clad model at the beach, and it would've been the best James Bond scene never filmed.

Re: Just Cause 2

Just did a mission that took me to
Spoiler:
the "lost" island

I have to say that was a good mission. Even though I knew what was about to happen....I got chills when
Spoiler:
your plane explodes
The story/faction missions are still different and varied enough to really entertain. It really is just the clearing the towns and stuff 100% that was a bit over the top on their part.....love this game..

Was doing the mission where you have to rescue the faction technician from a roadstop on a bridge, get in a yellow pickup and drive him safely to a waiting airplace about 2 kms down the road.
Once there, I spot a red APC on the runway and just for giggles, I grapple it to a green private jet thats just taken off. The carrier gets yanked off the ground and maybe a hundred feet into the air doing a lovely aerial ballet with the plane before the jet runs out of steam and augers into the ground tailfirst. Cruel, but epic.

But I wanna know what that damn grappling cable is made of!
I attached the grappling hook to a big military cargo plane and a small military jeep. I took off in the cargo plane, got really high, and decided to turn around and drop the jeep onto the base.

Bad idea.

As soon as I turned, the force of the turn caused the jeep to fly up the opposite way and hit the front of the plane head on.

Game over.

I remember that mission. It was fun.

Just finally saw the 3 headed Buddha statue and noticed it was attached to a friggin military fortress

I've been flying around just trying to uncover all the settlements. It makes it a lot easier when you want an extraction to somewhere.

Re: Just Cause 2

Just finished the game...I am now in mercenary mode....I was 31% complete when I finished it....

This really is a great game....but warning, when you start the second to last mission, it makes you move right into the last mission...otherwise I would not have finished the game so fast. I will mop up the faction missions, but I don't see myself completing the game 100%...maybe 75 or so...

Re: Just Cause 2

I'm at about 40 hours and 35% done. I did another story mission, but I think there's still 4 or 5 left from what I have heard.

I doubt I'll ever get 100% but what are the requirements, does anyone know?

I'd assume it's finishing every faction mission, finding every crate/skull/drug-drop/black-box, blowing everything up and getting 100% on every location.

Re: Just Cause 2

Well i have had the game 8 days and so far i have clocked in 45 hours worth of game time. I am seriously addicted. I have tried staying away from the missions, but they are pretty damn great. Just did the Cape Canaveral mission which was cool and had a nice end touch to it. I am not sure how much percentage i have completed, but i think i have made pretty good progress with everything. Still a longs ways off from 100% though....but i am sure i will eventually get there. Favourite new acts of mindless fun for me are stringing guys to the gas cannisters and shooting them off. I have also started to get into some of the races and they are surprisingly good.

Ha! Yeah, of course, races too - I forgot about the races, since I'm not a fan of them and don't plan on doing any more than the couple I've done.

Re: Just Cause 2

race missions/vehicle chases in sandbox games are my least favorite part of these games...one of the reasons Grand Theft Auto has never been one of my favorites....I have yet to even try one race yet, though I may try one to see what it is all about..

You know when you've played this game too much when in real life you see and antenna tower and think how you can get to it in order to blow it up!

Or when you find yourself trying to get on the roof of your car while driving 50 miles an hour.

Re: Just Cause 2

Guilty of wanting to blow up a cell tower recently. I swear it looked just like one in the game.

And while playing MW2, I kept wanting to use my grappling hook to zip places.

Re: Just Cause 2

well after saying I hate racing in sandbox games, I went ahead and tried it out, and 10 races, and an achievement later, I have to say that was fun. I killed on some of the flying ones, even the 3 star races in the main city actually seemed easy.....so there you go.

Re: Just Cause 2

I didn't care for the road races - how can you know the race you're getting into is air or land, and what about water races?

Re: Just Cause 2

on the main map when you highlight the race, it will have a little picture of a car/plane/boat/skydiving along with the 1-3 stars in difficulty. The air races around the main city, especially the one that loops in and out of the bridge is a blast....

Re: Just Cause 2

Played some more tonight, got a few trophies and cleared some civ towns. Holy shit though the enemies suck, they are almost impossible to get away from. You can zip away for 5 minutes and they will still always find you. I hid under a pier with no one around and no visibility and they STILL found me.. It's ridiculous really

Re: Just Cause 2

Completed the main section of the game last night and it was a nice ending to a great game. So far i have completed 47% of the game, and still have a lot of stuff to do. I am gonna start recording stuff and posting to Youtube as i have missed some great stuff so far. I have played a lot of great games over the last couple of years (Modern Warfares, God of War 3, Arkham Asylum the list goes on) but only Oblivion and Fallout 3 have come close to having the replay value and continued interest as this game. The x factor of what might happen really adds an extra dimension to this game. I know that going back to GTA will not be the same.

I am hoping that DLC really kills for this game. More weapons, vehicles, missions and i will be a happy person.

Re: Just Cause 2

Dear lord I love this game! Even when you 'cheat' the game doesn't error out, penalize you, or throw up invisible walls so other games.

For exaple. I just finished 'Driving Miss Stacy'. After accidentally driving into the river and dying, I decided to get sheaky. Second try I intentionally drive the limo into the river and bailed, followed by the hot bikini girl in the back, who obediently swam along behind me. God help me they actually gave her a wet skin layer *da-rool* Couldn't get her to dive though. So we just swam/ran the rest of the way to the drop off point with none of the soldiers any the wiser. So I earne dmy points, and even got in a bit of perving. Life is good.

LOL. Thats action movie quality stuff there. Got to try that.

Local security forces drive worse than I do. Don't know how many times I've started a bit of chaos and watch one of the idiots go summersaulting through the air after ramming a civillian vehicle.
