Just Cause 2
 

Is anyone else having a blast with this demo? I remember renting the first game on the original Xbox and not being too impressed but this one seems like a lot of fun. The grappling hook combined with the parachute makes for some great mayhem. I'm just not sure how it will all come together as a game and am worried that this 30-minute taste of the action may well be all there is to it.

I have the game preordered from amazon, and I am looking forward to it, but I was underwhelmed by the demo. I love these kind of games, but I hope the main game has a bit more direction. I never got into the first game, but games like Saints Row 1 and 2 are in my opinion some of the best games of this generation. It is really important to have variety in missions in these types of games and some sort of direction.

All of the stuff needed to make a great game are in the demo.....

I liked the demo but it seemed like the character and cars seem to skate across the landscape rather than being "attached" to it. I also have it on pre-order and will enjoy it but the movement just feels a tad off.

I cannot stop playing this demo. So rockin'. 30 Minutes each session just is not enough time to inflict the amount of Chaos I am willing to do. Download it if you have not already!

It's pretty great - the only thing I didn't care for was how quick you run out of ammo, and how little of it there seems to be around - but I'm sure it's not an issue in the full game.

The one and only time I managed to grapple up onto a helicopter I was out of ammo. I'm not sure if there are melee weapons and I just haven't found one but it was frustrating not being able to do anything once I was up there.

You can melee with the grapple using "B".

you ruined a perfectly good joke with a winking eye!!!!

Reminds me of this guy I use to work with who was real bad about cutting people down and saying "just kidding" after...it did not take long to understand that he was actually just cutting everyone down, and he figured that saying "just kidding" made it ok...when someone would get mad he would just laugh and say they took it the wrong way...

This short fat dude we worked with took the worst of it. The prick would make fun of him all the time...and always would say "just kidding"...one day the short guy had enough and just blasted him....I have never heard a string of cuss words, and put-downs so well put together in my life. He not only used every word in the book, it was thoughtfully strung together in a way that hit home...focusing on true flaws and character issues in the prick. When he was done, the 4 of us just stood there...and the short dude said "Just kidding"....we must have laughed for a week from that. From that day on, when ever the prick picked on the short dude, he would just snicker, and after a while he stopped picking on him...

This game feels like what Mercs 2 should have been. It's a lot of fun.

Oh, if you're hanging and have no ammo, I don't think there's anything you can do - maybe try to keep grappling to a position from where you can attack?

If you grapple the helicopter, you have to swing up onto it's windshield (which is either up or down on the thumbstick). Then shoot the passengers and then hijack with the quicktime event.

After watching the trailer that runs after the demo times out I'm in for this one. The various types of terrain and vehicles should make for some great sandbox action even if the main storyline fails to deliver.

I'm not digging this demo as much as I did the original. I appreciate the innovations I've seen so far, the execution is pretty sloppy.

Although it features terrible acting and awkward animation during the cinematics (everybody walks like they have a steel rod shoved up their asshole), the gameplay was a whole lot of fun. It's like what the latest Bionic Commando game should have been.

The demo was a huge awesome surprise for me. I wasn't expecting a Mexican Grand Theft Auto. Way fun game.

It was WAY more fun than GTA IV. I hope the game turns out as good. I'm hoping for a review by next Tues so I can roll my God Of War III gaming credit into this preorder. Still don't know if I want PC or 360 version, though.
