Re: Just Cause 2
Wow, I saw a youtube vid that was 10 mins of one of the developers playing and he did some amazing shit. I couldnt do a bit of it during the demo. I didnt know the hook was strong enough to efect a vehicle or pull a guy into the air.
Where are the vids of people posting their own stunts? I checked youtube but it was like all trailers, not fan made stuff.

How do you hook an object or a person to another object? I just broke this game out today and it's freakin amazing!

this game has a way of making you feel small..you grab item after item, finish town after town, finish the game, and you still are stuck at 37% done..

Just curious...how long is the actual gameplay if you focus on missions? I want to get this eventually...I like a sense of accomplishment sometimes though.

Re: Just Cause 2
There's 49 Faction missions and 7 Agency missions. The Faction missions vary in length. The Agency missions are longer and more involved. I don't think I could put a number on actual gameplay since I get so easily distracted doing other stuff in the game.

Thing is that in order to open up a lot of the faction missions, you have to do a bunch of side stuff and cause "chaos" on your own.

Re: Just Cause 2
I just played the game as I felt, and I always had the main missions available when I was ready to play them. I never felt I had to "grind" out chaos to open up a mission. I also finished the main quest with less than 25% of stuff done, so it does not take a lot...

I officially hate the driving physics in this game. Every vehicle handles like a Mustang on ice. But it does make for some interesting outcomes. In the one mission where you have to hijack a limo and deliver a politician to a specific point I wound up flipping the limo onto a rock and had to finish up in a garbage truck. It's kind of funny how your victims gladly follow you around and never try to escape.

Re: Just Cause 2
My game glitched out today and now has no sound nor does it have any right analog stick control. Once the game starts the sound is gone and I cant control the aim or turn my character as it disregards anything I do with the right analog stick. It didn't matter if I restarted my PS3 or reloaded various saves as it still had the same problem. I guess the next step is to backup my saves and delect the game information and re-install it. It is really weird and I'll be super pissed if I have to redo any of the 30% completion that I have done so far.

I don't get this. I agree with this statement if you are refering to the 1st game, but the vehicles in the second game handle far better and are in fact a joy to drive around. Maybe at first it might take a little getting used to for some people, but i for one got the hang of it right away.

I don't think the driving is great, but it is ok for a sandbox game. MUCH FUCKING better than GTA4...
The flying is fantastic....they nailed it....
I am 30 hours in, 40% done....If I did not play around, and stuck to the main stuff, I bet I could get 75% in about 60 hours at this rate....I might stop at 50 though...

This!
I don't mind the driving, but there have been many times where I'll forgo an extraction (quick-travel) just to fly to where I want in a copter or plane just because it's so fun, and I always get a thrill out of looking at the wide expanse of the world, knowing that if I see it, I can go to there!

The one thing about flying that's killing me is the lack of rudder control. I can get through most of the air races fine but the ability to yaw sideways would be a big help.

Re: Just Cause 2
one thing I was thinking, with the thrill of grabbing something at the VERY edge of your hooks limit, and flying toward it at top speed...it would be cool with all the upgrading if they allowed you to upgrade your hook for a bit more range and speed....I guess they tried to balance the game, and it is not really necessary, but tell me it would not be sweet to grab onto something 300 meters away and fly toward it!!!
Of course, with the way they upgrade health, it would probably take 1000 total parts to upgrade the hook to the max, and each upgrade would add one inch to the range.

Haven't heard too much about this game, is it similar to Crackdown? And how's the difficulty?

As for difficulty, I played it on normal, and sort of wished I played it one level higher.....a bit on the easy side

Re: Just Cause 2
I thought it started out really tough, almost unfair (read my earlier posts as to the matter), but once you get some upgrades and get the hang of the game, it's a lot more manageable, and almost easy - you can make it hard if you go guns blazing with no strategy, or make it totally easy if you plan out an attack with an escape plan.
I'd say it's like Crackdownx10, as it has 10x the collectibles/upgrades as Crackdown, 10x the vehicles, 10x the mobility (what with the grappling hook/parachute) and the world is close to 10x the size of Crackdown. And while JC2 doesn't have much of a story to speak of, it's a Dostoevsky novel compared to Crackdown's "story".
