As far as all the Wii jokes about it collecting dust, since I bought a 360 my PS3 and Wii are about equal in the dust collection department. Thankfully I use it for a BD movie now and then when my LG can't play a disc.

On another note, has anyone noticed that it has been impossible to buy a PS3 for the past few weeks. No stores have them, and they're even backordered on Sony's site. Anyone know what gives?

I heard that too. A dude here at work said his wife had to go to three different stores to find a PS3.

PS3 sales have tripled since the Slim was announced (July 2009 NPD vs February 2010). If the monthly production totals weren't at least tripled as well, it's not hard to figure out why they're so hard to find.

The 250gig is easy enough to find (it's in-stock right now at BB), and the 120's harder to find, but I've seen a few here and there at Frys and other stores.

Yeah. It was cool when I thought it was legit. I assumed it was something to do with some special concession Sony did for one customer. Like when chess' fatty was replaced with a slim. Or some ridiculous promo from a previous massive purchase. Uncool after I read mhg83's links showing this was a scam.

Funny that I started a thread about this over at Blu-ray.com and they deleted it. I actually stated TRU was scammed and posted it because it is legitimate news and now the thread is gone.

Awesome. Some guy loses his job, but I guess it is worth it to steal a PS3. I know there will be an argument that he should have caught it or asked a manager, but faking coupons is no different from stealing. I wonder how many TRU stores have been hit by this coupon?

Make no mistake, creating and trying to pass a fake coupon is a real dick move....but let's be honest here....if the employee at TRU was too dumb to even go and clear something like this with the manager first, then they are probably not an employee that TRU wants working for them anyway....I mean, it doesn't take a degree from MIT to realize, "hey, maybe I shouldn't accept a coupon for a FREE $300 system without getting some approval first".....
