Re: The Official PS3 thread - Encryption? We don't need no stinkin' encryption.

Can I just comment on how awesome it is that even though the PSN is still down, I still get a new mandatory update for Killzone forced on me. Way to go Sony,at least you have the most annoying component of the online experience functioning.

edit : Ok, I guess service is up. My bad. Taking over 30 minutes to download a 58 MB patch. Good to see the PSN is working just like normal again.

Wave 4 is up, including Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.

C'mon, Minnesota...

30mins? Takes me like 2 mins max for all patches.

EDIT: looks like Texas is about to be up.

I was able to login, download the update, install, etc. In less than 20 minutes.

I also tried Netflix, it asked to enter my username and password again, but other than everything looks fine.

I didn't try anything else.

I said 'and' because I'm both. Different than the 'and' in "Steers and queers".

It's a festivus miracle! And even though my PSN account was now showing a dead credit card account, I went ahead and clicked "delete billing information" while I was at it. Only Amazon digital PSN cards for me, from now on. (at least for a while.)

Just glad I could link my Steam account to Portal 2. Now to try and get some of those tricky online only Portal 2 trophies.

There's a like button on Steam? Whoa, I swear it's getting more like Facebook by the day.

Exactly! Netflix didn't work for all of us with the described method.

Nope, not up for everyone. I still get an error saying "psn is currently undergoing maintenance"

My friend is online in the same town but yet I am not getting the maintenance message again. i sure hope that the PSN doesn't turn into a spotty, hit and miss network from now on where you have to hope and pray every time that you want to get on.
