Anonymous must be a division of Wheatley Laboratories. Bunch of morons.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
Well, at least there weren't any new games released this week that people would want to play online. Imagine how much this would suck if that happened.
Oh, wait... |
Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
MOther fucker, Im off today and my interent is finally working, havent updated my shit in over a month and the damn psn isnt working? Fuck you Sony.
On the subject of deleting game installs, what about DLC? I bought the ones for Assassins Creed 2, so if I delete the insall do I lose my DLC? Has anyone seen a sale of the Burnout Pardise package? I know it got reduced but I want a sale on some of it to get the island and cars |
Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
I'd be angry about this outage if I used my PS3 for anything other than BluRay watching. As it is, I'm just amused, though I sympathize with those whose weekend has been screwed up by it.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
Sony admits that the PSN was taken offline because of an "external intrusion":
http://www.destructoid.com/sony-admi...k-199468.phtml Still no signs as to when the PSN will come online... |
Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
This seems far more likely than "Anonymous":
It seems that the attack may be caused by those who have modified their PS3s to act as dev kits, in an attempt to steal content from the PSN. This would certainly explain why Sony itself is the one that shut down the service. |
Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
What sucks is that even with Portal 2 you need to log into PSN to access Steam. :hscratch:
Oh well, at least the PC version was included. That's working. |
Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
Argh really annoying it's still down, I'm got a craving to play some Killzone 3 online!

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
Say what you will about Microsoft, but one cannot deny its douchebaggery is of the highest quality. The company has responded to the recent PlayStation Network downtime, offering its condolences to affected players, but reminding everyone that they can still use Xbox Live if they want to. Classy!
"Of course it’s regretful that Sony is encountering issues at such a busy time, and Microsoft takes no joy in the problems gamers are having playing their favourite games online," said an MS rep. "That being said, we are expecting Microsoft’s robust online network to see an increase of traffic from those gamers who own both systems. "Being able to play their games via the Xbox Live network could make all the difference for some gamers, and the Xbox Nations event will allow all of them to do just that -- whether they have a Gold subscription or not.” So, PlayStation Network goes down during Microsoft's free-for-all Xbox Live event ... coincidence? How convenient. Of course, it probably is a coincidence, but I'm going to pretend it's corporate sabotage, because my life isn't interesting enough. http://www.destructoid.com/microsoft...--199469.phtml  On a serious note how much lost revenue is Sony facing with this outage? |
Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
That takes balls for MS to say that, especially when they had that epic crash on Christmas a few years ago.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
lol, well I can continue to play year round with a week or 2 out for FREE online.. MS still sucks for making people pay to play online. I have PS+ but that is for the perks of the free games. All MS gives you are a few deals (few and far between) and online play. I honestly don't play online, but it still sucks.
I saw people who have a 360 and ps3 alike complaining about project 10 dollars, but aren't 360 people forced to pay to play online anyways? How is this much different really? I really do hope that when MS has a huge crash next time and goes down for a couple of weeks that sony makes a kevin butler commercial about it. Dear playstation, my 360 isn't connecting to live, what can I do? Well, ps3 has great online gaming that won't cost you even one BILL. We don't put GATES up around our network like certain people do, but we aren't naming names. |
Re: The Official PS3 thread - Software bugs? We don't need no software bugs
Deals few and far between? Spoken like someone either so blinded by rage or just willingly-ignorant. Everything I buy on XBL is discounted 50% or more (except Rock Band tracks (usually)). The deals are weekly at worst, with many overlapping. Plenty of ways to earn bonus points via promotions, bing, or the rewards program too. 5% rebates in March and April and possibly forever. Stack that on the sales you're already getting and it's just gravy.
I haven't paid more than $35 for a year of XBL ever and I'm good until 2014 right now. I easily "save" that per year in gold-exclusive deals. I play online, but I don't really assign a $/year value on that. Also Netflix, ESPN3 integration is nice for Gold, but not unique to XBL so I don't justify it that way either. |

I do want to add that I did used to have a 360, but I don't remember the deals being that frequent, but that may have changed since I had my 360 |

It'll be interesting to see what compensation Sony offers PS+ and other users, if any.
