I see this wireless adapter is cheaper. Is there a difference or is it the same as the unit you showed me?

Third party product. I'd stay away from that. Plus with that absurd $7 shipping, it's not more than a few dollars cheaper.

By the time I put the power cord and a couple of controllers in there it fits pretty snug. Of course they do make the 360 specific backpacks. I just used my old laptop bag and it seemed to fit pretty good.
I might end up seeing if I can find a Laptop Backpack/Case as you mentioned. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I have a question relating to the xbox family gold plan. I now will have a third child who wants to have gold access. She is young, and will only play local games, but I want gold for her because of netflix/hulu....My oldest teenager already has his own gold account, but since I am going gold I might as well combine them all at this point to save money...
My question is this....my son plays MW2/Black ops...if for what ever reason he gets banned, because he does something stupid (I have no reason to believe he will do this, and he has been good so far, but you never know with teens) will all xbox's on the family pack be banned? While I understand being responsible for my kids actions, I don't want to lose my account because he did something stupid... |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I think the ban is by gamertag. Just lock your account so he doesn't use it, and you should be safe.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Depends on the infraction. They can ban the gamertag, just like they can ban the xbox itself.

Does XBOX 360 run in HD with composite cables hooked up to HDTV? I didn't think so, but wanted to make sure. Thanks in advance.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Composite cables aren't capable of transmitting an HD signal. Component cables are, however...

Microsoft stopped shipping HD-ready cables with the Xbox many moons ago. Maybe even years at this point.

Just noticed that my 260 points from rewards were deposited today 6 times, went from 2900 points to 4460.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I haven't been able to start Kinect Fun Labs for a few weeks now. I've seen many other places that other are getting to on of the splash screens and then having their controller lock up on them. Since it isn't a program I use much I waited for the fix I heard people say was incoming...but it was rumored to be coming last week. Does anyone here have the same issue? Anyone know about a fix? I'm close to messaging Major Nelson but I doubt that will do any good.

I don't know if this was ever talked about here, but the glossy 250GB slims are going away.
We are actively transitioning all our Xbox 360 S consoles to a matte finish. The consoles will start to arrive in stores over the coming weeks, so if you really love the idea of a glossy console don’t wait much longer. |

Say, whatever happened to the cloud saves and online gamer profiles we were promised at E3? Did they forget about them already?

I went with family Gold...my experience so far has been great...
I have three active accounts on gold...when it was all said and done, I got near 2 years of family gold because they give you 1 month gold for every 2 months on the current users gold account.... I have already exploited this...I had a 12 month card I picked up a while back for 39.99...and added it to a 4th account on my xbox...I then added that to my family account...so I got 6 months for 39.99 for all of my accounts...normally at 100 a year, that would be 50 bucks for 6 months...I then dropped that 4th account...in 5 days I can add it again, but I will wait till another 40 buck 12 month card comes up and keep doing that so my family gold plan is going to cost 80-85 bucks a year and not 99.99....if you have 4 accounts you want to have gold on, this brings they year cost per account down to around 20 bucks a year... |

I wish they had different tiers on the family accounts, like a 2, 3, 4 account family account. I have 2 accounts, mine and my son's account, but have no need for another 2 gold accounts, but if we could get a gold account for 2 years that would be awesome. Although right now I will have 3+ years on my account, I have about 15 months currently and then I have 2 1 year cards I have not added to the accounts yet. Is it worth it to add 2 other users (cousins) that live in another location for a family account? Would it be too big of a pain for them to add points for DLC? |

Hurry, Buy.com is selling these ugly plastic cases for your 360 at 50% off. Give your 360 an erection at a discounted price!
<object width="640" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4xu8t5XWYNM&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4xu8t5XWYNM&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></embed></object> Unfortunately, the decorative smoke grenade, claymore and ammo clip will run you an extra $30. But it's worth it for the absurdly strange look it gives you, right? Then there's always the limited MLG edition for those who feel the regular ones aren't quite ugly or bulky enough: Spoiler:

Video of the new dashboard update features. It does absolutely NOTHING for me, and for all the talk of it letting "the technology getting out of your way", it seems way more convoluted than before.
