Ah gotcha, thanks for the info. Yeah I am at about that part in the story. It just seems weird, since I'm not interested in that storyline, I wish they gave the option to skip it if you redeem mid-game. Or maybe I should have redeemed the code after beating the game. Not a huge deal though..

Re: Batman: Arkham City Thread

I swear some of the side missions I didn't get to complete before beating the game glitched after the credits ran and now I can't do them. The locations of a few are marked on the map but I've searched those areas very carefully and I can't find anything to move those missions along.

If you're talking about Nora, she's a PITA to find and not near the marker at all. or at least not where you enter the area.

I was worried about this too...specifically with the identity thief stuff, but there were still a couple of bodies out there...just a matter of finding them without guidance.

Spoiler:
Odds are you're missing one near Ace Chemicals

The freeze weapon...forget what it's called is still doable as well...but not marked.

Spoiler:
Look in the steel mill

And Nora is there...just tricky to get to, as mentioned above.

Re: Batman: Arkham City Thread

Nora is a pain to find if you just search the area blindly, but there are some pretty obvious clues.

Spoiler:

It's the only building besides the Steel Mill that has a usable door with joker henchmen guarding it, and if you try to use the door a joker henchman will answer. As for finding the way in, you basically have to use the tool you just received from Mr. Freeze, which is to be expected and gives you a hint as to which area to look for an entrance into the building.

I actually enjoyed playing as her. She's essentially Spider-Man somehow in Arkham City.

What bugs me is that Robin's DLC is nothing but challenge maps. They could easily have added a story with him that occurs either before
Spoiler:
he gets the rappel line to Batman
or after he and Batman part ways.

It would have been a great way to bring in other villains like Firefly.

I really enjoy playing as Catwoman. I agree that the story isn't all that great but if they came out with a full-blown Catwoman game like this, I'd be all over it.

I didn't have a problem running around as Catwoman either. It would be fun if she had more to do.

This bothered me too even though I was suckered in by both packs and bought them. I would've liked to have been able to use Robin or Nightwing in the story mode instead of just using them for the challenges. I wonder if there's any possibility of some DLC based missions with either character or not.

I thought she played just like Batman except without the ability to glide or grapple, both of which made the world fun to navigate, and with this awesome tendency to get stuck in fire escapes and such.

I played her story bits and tracked down most of her Riddler trophies, but that was it. If a Catwoman trophy was any appreciable distance from where I was, I would often find a place to switch to Batman to travel there and then switch back. I found the mechanic of smashing into walls and hopping up them that annoying.

I actually enjoyed using her whip to swing across the city and I also enjoy crawling over enemies for stealth takedowns. And I never got stuck in any fire escapes.

However, it irked me that she'd drop to the ground after a hanging takedown for no apparent reason.

You can switch between them on the fly?

You can switch between the two at predetermined spots (group of cats on the roof of a building), once you complete Catwoman's storyline. Catwoman was a cool change-up during combat, but getting around the city I was always happy to get Batman back.

Same here, she was different enough that I liked a change of pace from Batman, and I didn't get stuck anywhere either. Gliding and grappling everywhere actually got kind of old to me, especially after chasing down those telephones.

Re: Batman: Arkham City Thread

I finished the main storyline last night. I also finished Catwoman's storyline (I hope they find something more compelling for her to do in the next game). Overall, I enjoyed the game but I have some reservations about the story.

Spoiler:
As others have mentioned, the ending has a glaring plot hole: the vials of antidote.

The Joker infected Batman and the citizens of Gotham with his blood (do they even bother to screen blood in Gotham hospitals?). He had Harley steal the vials. One of the vials got destroyed (I forget when or how). Also for some reason Harley was tied up before Strange put Protocol 10 in effect (if there was an explanation for that, I totally missed it). Clayface/Joker kidnaps Talia and takes the remaining vial with him. For no apparent reason, Clayface/Joker doesn't give the Joker the vial. Batman gets the vial, drinks half and the Joker accidentally smashes the vial. The Joker manages to imbibe a little bit of the antidote (enough, I'm sure, to say he only slipped into a coma and will slowly recover in time for the next game) and Batman reveals he would have been willing to share it with him despite everything that happened. So... Batman was willing to doom the innocent citizens of Gotham but not the madman that poisoned them? Were Dini and his co-writers pulling a reverse The Dark Knight Returns and trying to imply that it is Batman who is in love with the Joker?

Ra's being the power behind Hugo Strange was pretty obvious and it was rather frustrating that the World's Greatest Detective couldn't figure that out. I'm willing to forgive the naivety of Hugo Strange's goal (that the world would proclaim him a hero for causing mass slaughter, no matter how vile some of the inmates were) because he's batshit crazy. But it does bug me that he (and by association, Ra's) was so shortsighted in how to best use Mad Hatter's mind control techniques.

And what was the deal with Talia's plan? She lets herself get kidnaped so that Batman can show up to rescue - err - watch her kill the Joker... Yeah...

At least one of the those glaring plot holes could have been fixed with story based DLC for Robin and/or Nightwing. Instead we just get more challenge maps.

Re: Batman: Arkham City Thread

It seems Game + mode sort of resolves a certain dangling thread:

Haven't played Game + yet but I'm glad to know there's a bit of payoff to that revelation.

Now the question is
Spoiler:
did Mista J knock her up or was it Clayface posing as the Joker?

Re: Batman: Arkham City Thread

This may or may not be a stupid question but do you first get "Nora" for Mr. Freeze and then go after Joker or vice-versa? I have the "Joker" primary and the "Go Find Nora" as secondary.

And yea I've kind of looked around the area for Nora and haven't a idea. The building right next to the water has a locked door (double-doors) which also has the breakable wall down by the water (?)

Did anyone else have problems getting Deadshot's second victim to show up? I've finished the game twice now and it hasn't triggered.

I stumbled upon her location but didn't realize that

I seem to recall getting an audio message from Alfred right before the Mad Hatter sequence that the antidote has been analyzed and they started distributing it. Go here to pick it up which is when the Mad Hatter surprises you

Spoiler:
Mad Hatter revealed that what led Batman to that spot was a remote suggestion that led him to believe whatever he desired most would be found there.

At another foum, someone said their may have been a moment when Batman got the vial from Freeze (prior to their fight and Harley's subsequent theft of the same) that he managed to scan it and send the data to Oracle. That's not how I remember the scene so I'll have to play the game again to be sure.

Re: Batman: Arkham City Thread

I'm stuck at a place where you have to use the remote batarang to unlock a panel. It's the one you do after you've been using Freeze's device to make little ice islands to navigate through Gotham's pipe systems. Basically, after you defeat Freeze and have to look for Joker. I can't seem to get the batarang to hit the device correctly, even when it seems to hit it directly. If anyone knows how to get past where I am, please let me know.
