Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Very cool. I like that they do original tables but to me they are never as fun as the digital vintage tables.

I really wish they would try to get old Stern, Gottlieb and Bally tables added. Even new Stern tables would be welcome. Or newer developers like Jerey Jack.

I just always prefer real tables that have been digitized to the original ones they create. There is just something about the playability that cannot be matched on tables that don't come from meat space.

But I will pick these up once they hit a sale price.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I just discovered the Pinball M and played a few tables, The Ancient Gods being my fav so far. But the tables look gorgeous and are so much fun and watching that ball go into places that you can't see and then when the ball spits out you got to be on your toes. So much fun.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Zen Pinball games are on sale for Switch & Switch 2. Some of the discounts end tonight, some extend for another week.
As I mentioned in the Switch 2 thread, the S2 has a kickstand that can be stood vertically, making the whole table visible while playing on a tabletop (or airplane tray-table).

Elvira's Scared Stiff table coming 10/16 in time for Halloween. I remember enjoying that table on Pinball Arcade.

Hopefully it is the uncensored version instead of the censored one they released on the prior iteration.

It's a fantastically fun and funny table.

Okay, Zen just announced that the other Elvia table, Elvia & The Party Monsters will also come out on 10/16. But the two tables will be released separately, not as a bundle. I suppose that means they'll be $10 each.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I always wait until they hit 50% off or more. I have enough of the tables to keep me busy. I recently got all the horror tables and a ton of the regular tables at 60% off or more on a recent sale.

LRG will be putting out a physical copy of their Williams tables for PS4/5 and Switch 1/2. I wouldn't rebuy, but I guess it would be nice to future proof against any future rights issues with the tables.

It’s been so long (9 years) that I forgot Zen already has released this table pack before. Still nice to have them back for current Gen. Coming February 12th.

Well it (and Party Monsters) went on their first minuscule sale (20% off). Not much of a discount, but I’m weak. Bought Scared Stiff. It’s still the great table I remembered. So much fun and maybe the easiest multi ball in history. Zero regrets. I would wait on Party Animals though. I don’t think that table was very good.

Also, I noticed that Bethesda Pinball comes with a dual license with Pinball M versions as well. Not sure if the content is any different but maybe it’s bloodier?

Yeah, I bought them both the Elvira tables because I enjoy both them a lot. I usually wait for larger discounts but said screw it. Plus, the suggestive dialogue appears intact on both when they previously were not. It was a lot of fun to hit all the goals on both of them. Scared Stiff was easy but Party Monsters took me a little more time.

I did a search about the difference on the Bethesda tables.

I saw it got released but was gonna wait on the eventual sale price.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Thanks for that chart. I guess the question is “Did they punch up the violence and language from the Original tables for the Pinball M version, or did they tone it down for the Pinball FX version?”/

Also It’s been like a year and a half since Zen released a new Pinball M only table. Feels like they’ve already forgotten about this format.
I would have loved a Scream based table.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Big, not great, update from Zen :
Important Pinball Updates

Published: March 12, 2026

Dear Pinball Fans,

Before the premiere of our next Pinball Bites, we would like to share a few important updates with you regarding the future of certain pinball platforms and games. We wanted to let you know about these changes in advance so we can set expectations properly before the episode airs.

Over the past few years, Pinball FX and Pinball M have grown, with more and more content, and supporting multiple console generations at the same time has become increasingly demanding for our team. After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision that future Pinball FX and Pinball M releases will no longer launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Starting June 1, Pinball FX – Seasons support will also end on these platforms.

Unfortunately, this decision also extends to Zen Pinball World. This exciting project allowed us to bring our tables to new players, however, in order to bring the pinball genre to the next level, we will have to focus our resources elsewhere.

All previously purchased tables, online services such as leaderboards, tournaments, events, and offline play will be unimpacted and remain available.

(PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles will remain supported with new content in the future.)

Due to licensing reasons, World Cup Soccer will be removed from the stores on April 30. It’s important to note that players who purchase the table before its removal will be able to play it in the future without any interruptions. The table is currently available in Pinball FX, Pinball FX VR, Zen Pinball World, and AtGames Legends 4KP. We will aim to provide discounts for the table on as many platforms as In In the coming weeks, we will begin rebranding most of our games so they are unified under the Pinball FX brand. We believe this is an important step to streamline our communication and make it easier for players to discover the pinball games we currently support.

This process will include the following changes:
  • Pinball M will be renamed to Pinball FX Midnight
  • Zen Pinball World will be renamed to Pinball FX GO
  • Pinball FX 2 VR will be renamed to Pinball FX Classic VR
These changes won’t affect the functionalities and availability of these games in any way.

The rebranding process also affects Pinball FX3, but certain platforms will be handled differently:

The game and its DLCs will be hidden on the PlayStation Store and the Nintendo Switch eShop, meaning that they won’t be discoverable for players from the beginning of May. However, if you already have the game in your inventory on these platforms, these changes won’t affect you, as the game will remain in your library and you will still be able to expand your table collection through the in-game shop.

Unfortunately, we are unable to do this on Xbox and the Microsoft Store due to technical reasons, meaning that the game and its DLCs will be removed from the store at the beginning of May, and acquiring these titles won’t be possible in the future. The exact date will be shared in the upcoming weeks. We will aim to provide discounts on these titles too, before removal.

As for Steam, Pinball FX3 will be renamed to Pinball FX Classic, and its DLCs will remain available to purchase. Our wonderful cabinet-building community and other infrastructures, such as the Legacy Bundles, rely heavily on this game, making it an important cornerstone of our current pinball environment.

We would like to highlight that none of these changes will impact the game’s functionality in any way, and online services will continue to operate in the future.

We understand that this news may be disappointing for players on these platforms, and we truly want to thank you for the support you’ve shown us over the years. We wish you many high scores on your favorite tables!

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

For some strange reason the World Cup Soccer info won't post. Let me try again :

Due to licensing reasons, World Cup Soccer will be removed from the stores on April 30. It’s important to note that players who purchase the table before its removal will be able to play it in the future without any interruptions. The table is currently available in Pinball FX, Pinball FX VR, Zen Pinball World, and AtGames Legends 4KP. We will aim to provide discounts for the table on as many platforms as possible and let you know about them on our social channels. This also affects the Williams Pinball Premium Bundle, which will be reworked in the future, without World Cup Soccer.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I am confused by this:

Are they just saying that when they launch a new table, it won't immediately be available on the PS4 and X1 but eventually coming or are they saying they are not bringing any more new tables to those consoles at all?

And what is "Seasons support?"

I got a decent bonus from work, and I think I am going to use some of that money to dip my toe (actually both feet and likely entire legs) into the Virtual Pinball physical table world.

I have a good friend who built his own table entirely from scratch and it is almost complete. It is amazing to play and looks astonishingly good. You can play in 2D, 3D with glasses (drains some of the color but still looks great) and in VR. He has access to hundreds of tables for free which range from old 70's tables to brand new custom tables being made today. And the tables are free because they are supposed to be. That community gets ultra-pissed if people try to sell any of these table because people code these out of the love for it.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

^I am a dumbass. I just remembered we are on the PS5 generation and the stupidly named Xbox Series X console so the PS4 & X1 support doesn't matter to me.

Still curious about the "seasons" thing though.

Okay, don’t ask me why because I don’t know, but right now on the Nintendo eShop, the brand new, $14.99 Bethesda Pinball pack is 100% Off. It’s free to purchase. The eShop doesn’t sell demo versions like the PSN Store does. So go grab it while you can.
