Holy Shitballs! Good to hear. It is ridiculous how long it took them to complete Season 5 on the X1. I will pick those up this week now.

Is Season 6 complete?

No not yet, but (at least on the PS4, I assume also on the XO) they dropped 8 of the 11 tables at once, counting their first fictional/original table - - a modern remake of the old Dr Who table.

Welp...a few things:

There is a big sale on Xbox for Star Wars related stuff including the Pinball FX tables. All of them are half off, including the single tables like Rebels and Rogue One.

And Stern Pinball has come down in recent weeks, physical edition for X1, it is now hovering around $28 on Amazon. I'm waiting for $25, or even $20 personally, but that's a darn good price.

What do you mean "Which Version"? The Xbox and PS4 physical releases both have the same 10 tables (plus a code that will allow a download of Ghostbusters when available). It looks like the Xbox version has more tables because they list the Limited Edition of Star Trek and AC/DC, but they're not really any different than the regular versions and I wouldn't count them as different tables.

My advice is buy the two bundles off the Xbox for $19.99 each instead since you won't want to get up and put in the disc every time you want to play a table. To me that convenience is worth the extra $12, but it's your call.

BTW : Only 4 tables (Star Trek, Mustang, AC/DC and the aforementioned Ghostbusters) aren't part of previously released Pinball Arcade season packs. Those other seven tables, if owned already in
Season Packs or individually in TPA, will port to Stern Pinball Arcade if they haven't done so already.

Most of them have, but as with everything from this company the process was a pain. I had to go to Pinball Arcade on PlayStation store, most of the tables that I already had said Free and I had to go to them and hit download there, then they seemed to work in Stern Pinball Arcade. The only one that didn't work with was High Roller Casino, which shows $4.99 under regular Pinball Arcade, even though I own it and am able to play it in regular Pinball Arcade.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I checked and you're right -- I now have all the tables released except High Roller for some reason (should have figured, that's one of my very favorites).

Wonder why there's no trophy/figure there when selecting the AC/DC table in Stern Pinball-- there is with every other table.

Seriously fuck that. Mustang table. The gap between the flippers is twice as wide as any other table.

I was referring to my prior post regarding this release:
So I read back through everyone's posts regarding the Stern Pinball Arcade. Could they have made this release more confusing?

So they duplicated many tables that are already on the Pinball Arcade. Are they actually updating/retooling these tables or are they the exact same tables? Then they put one table separate as the only way to get both versions. Then they charge a pretty substantial price for people who already have most of the tables and only need one or two. Then they include the "limited edition" tables as disc only? What the fuck?

I see the disc version has a release date of 12-15-16. So is this going to be a completely separate game in the store or built within the regular Pinball Arcade? Sucks that they are doing the limited editions only on disc. I am a disc buyer typically but for stuff like pinball, I prefer digital and not having to swap out discs.

Don't know what I am going to do about this release. I really like the AC/DC and Star Trek tables.
So I was mainly talking about the above. I agree that I don't really want the disc as I just like to jump into pinball games quickly. I just didn't know if the limited editions of the tables were worth the disc price or not. Anyone know the main differences for the "limited editions?" Any other advantage to the disc version instead of the download version?

I hope they eventually release the KISS, Aerosmith, Metallica, etc. tables as well.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

This is taken from a review of the retail game on Amazon. I assume he is correct :

The PS4 version has 10 tables (11 including unreleased Ghostbusters), the XBONE has 13 (14 with Ghostbusters), the extra 3 being the Limited Edition versions of AC/DC and Star Trek. It's a little misleading, as the differences between these and the "standard" premiums are largely cosmetic. There are certainly no rule changes, playfield alterations, or anything else that affects gameplay. The box shot of the PS4 version claiming that it includes the Limited Editions is incorrect. The actual box does not make that claim; they are not available in any version on PS4. At least some (probably all, but no guarantees) of these releases on either platform state there is a download code to get Ghostbusters for free when it is released (current estimate is March or April, but no solid date as of yet). Obviously, as Ghostbusters hasn't even been finished yet, it is not on the disc, and must be downloaded.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Thanks Decker. I wonder what the cosmetic changes are?

So anyone going to the Southern Fried Gameroom Expo in Atlanta in June? I will be there and am taking my son again. It was a lot of fun last year playing all kinds of pinball (and arcade games) until my fingers wanted to fall off.

BIG NEWS!

Announcing Pinball FX3: The Biggest, Most Community-Focused Pinball Game Ever

It's time for the next step in the evolution of pinball. Pinball FX3 is the biggest, most community-driven pinball game ever.

Posted by Mel Kirk VP of Publishing, Zen Studios

Hello from Zen Studios! We’ve got some very big news! I am so excited to announce that Pinball FX3 will be releasing on PlayStation 4 this summer.

Zen Pinball has been serving the PlayStation community since the very early days of PSN in May of 2009 (8 years?!?!), and the time has come to go next-level and take a major step forward in the evolution of pinball. Pinball FX3 will now be the Zen-supported pinball platform on PSN – replacing Zen Pinball 2 which is currently available on PS4.

Pinball FX3 is a massive game packed full of new features designed to turn pinball into a true community experience on PS4. Built around multiplayer-matchups, user-generated tournaments and league play, Pinball FX3 is now so much more than just leaderboard rankings – the game elevates the competitive pinball spirit that has thrived since the early days of pinball more than a century ago.

Not so hot with the flippers? We have heard from so many people that they feel lost when trying to play pinball, not really understanding the game or objectives. We have thought about you along the development process and have designed deep single-player modes that will help you become a better pinball player!

Now, to answer the question burning in all of your minds: can you take your Zen Pinball 2 tables to Pinball FX3? Yes, you can! Zen Studios is 100% committed to keeping the community intact and providing you with one of the best values in gaming. We are happy to announce that you will be able to import the majority of your Zen Pinball 2 purchases to Pinball FX3 for free! We’re giving you all of the new features and upgrades at no cost – and there are a ton of them, giving you reasons to never stop playing your tables. We like to think that Pinball FX3 is an endless ocean of replayability!

There are a ton of other details to share with you, and we will post more details as we lead up to launch. Keep an eye on our social media feeds or www.pinballfx.com for news and updates, including confirmed table roster, info on what we have done to make your pinball tables more beautiful (yes, harnessing extra gfx power) and of course, news about brand-new content releasing with Pinball FX3. We will have new day-one content based on some amazing properties from a brand new partner!

Thank you all for many, many years of support. The game keeps going because you keep playing and supporting us. Pinball FX3 is a new beginning and we look forward to awesome days ahead!

This is good news, but I worry about those that are left in the dust. If they're playable at all or only buy purchasing again.

Take for instance Epic Quest and Mars in the announcement trailer. Are they part of the PFX3 main pack where I have to pay for them again if I want the other 2-4 tables they're showing or will I get those automatically when I download what could be a free shell that runs the paid-for tables?

I need more info now!

If I had to guess, it probably says majority because the Super League Football table won't import, since it's no longer on the stores. Also, one of their older licenses may be close to expiring that they won't bother bringing over, like Ninja Gaiden or Stret Fighter.

Is Pinball FX3 PS4 only? It doesn't mention any other consoles.

Sorry, that cut & paste was from the Playstation Blog. They like to pretend that multi-console games are Playstation exclusives. It's coming to other consoles as well :

Nice! Guess that explains the relative lack of FX2 tables so far this year. Looks like we won't have to wait all that long for it to come out.

Definitely interested in the kinds of visual improvements they have in store.

Yeah, and I'm sure there'll still be no Ms. Splosion Man going forward like there wasn't on Xbox One.

Looks like Stern Pinball Arcade on PS4 will finally let you get High Roller Casino for free if you own it on The Pinball Arcade. It showed up for free on the store for me, not sure if it works in game or not.

Public Service Announcement :

I think every Marvel Pinball DLC table (and bundle) put out by Zen as well as South Park, Balls of Glory and maybe some other DLC packs are currently on sale at 50% off as part of the PSN Comic Com Falsh Sale until Mon 8/24 @ 8AM PT. A great time to fill holes in your collection before the ZP3 upgrade.
