Bungie clarified the betrayal thing in their latest weekly update:
We’re seeing reports of players being booted for betrayals after just one measly stinkin’ team kill. Yup, it actually can and will happen, but as always, it’s a bit more nuanced than it appears to be on first glance. Currently Halo: Reach is using a betrayal system similar to the one employed by Halo 2, where players accumulate strikes against their betrayal count not just for straight up kills, but also for doing non-fatal damage to their teammates.
Of course, none of that is communicated very well in game, so it’s no surprise that you’re freaking out about it. Even internally, we’ve already talked about tweaks to the current system and we’re looking into deploying a solution. Don’t worry; it’s something we can configure without a major update, so you can expect to hear back from us soon about some modified betrayal booting conditions. Maybe December. (Yes, that's a joke.)

FF would count against your betrayal count. That is essentially what the update said. A common griefing tactic (that used to avoid getting you booted) was to simply tag the shields of an teammate so the enemy will easily kill them. It was griefing, but in H3 didn't count as a betrayal. The method in Reach will remedy that.

This is the first time I’ve had a Halo game this long without starting the campaign yet. But the multiplayer is just a blast right now. And with all of the great reviews I guess I’m just trying to prolong the inevitable, especially since this is supposed to be Bungie’s last Halo game….for now.

I played through the campaign tonight with one of my friends. Took 7.5 hours on Heroic without stopping, and I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. This is the only game in the series beyond the first that I've completed, even though I own all of them. We decided we're going to play through the whole series in order now.

I played through the campaign tonight with one of my friends. Took 7.5 hours on Heroic without stopping, and I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. This is the only game in the series beyond the first that I've completed, even though I own all of them. We decided we're going to play through the whole series in order now.
The first one is great as coop, but you can only play local coop.

Goddamn the checkpoints are getting on my fucking nerves. I'm doing level 6 and I'm on the
and every time it saves I have no health and a shit ton of enemies bearing down on me. So I've had to restart the entire level once already, and I just reached a different checkpoint on my second time through and it did it again. FUCK! I'm going to have to restart yet again. What a waste of time.

Then Reach came out and I think that is essentially what I have now. Reach feels way more like H2 than H3.

Yes. Haven't had too many issues up until this point. Sure I've gotten stuck before, but it was always a matter of approaching a battle more effectively, not getting fucked over by a check point.

So I played a little MP yesterday and I have no f'ing idea what I'm doing. I played this "game" where you collect skulls. Only I have no clue as to what to do with them when I pick them up. I do know that I get blasted and they all go spilling everywhere and the dude who blasted me gets them. What's the point of this game?
