Cool. I'm with you there, I also want to be finished with Knoxx before next week!

Re: Borderlands

Hopefully we'll make a good run of it tonight.

Wish I hadn't read that Crawmerax wiki.

You're right, that driving around in circles last time wasn't very productive.

Definitely shock. I did heavy damage with a shock sniper.

Re: Borderlands

I have a decent, not great, x4 shock SMG and a pretty good (stats-wise) shock sniper...so we may do OK. We'll also need to make sure that all of our turrets and bloodwing are on shock.

We probably need one of you regenerating ammo and the other regenerating shields while I generate health.

If worse comes to worse, I'll bring in my Siren and phase when we get in trouble. But just on principle, I'd like to figure out how to finish the game with our original dudes.

Re: Borderlands

Regen shields is pretty useless. You're better off with some sort of elemental enhancement or cooldown.

No doubt, but I'm a Hunter playing w/ two soldiers...so that's all I've got.

Re: Borderlands

Tried again tonight on the 2nd playthrough, but could not get the glitch spot to work again. Died about 10 times and said to hell with it. Did finish all the achievements at least with the last one on the 1st playthrough. I'll probably try looting Knoxx again a few times on the 2nd playthrough, but I'm probably done with Crawmerax.

Re: Borderlands

@Chew/Donuts,

Apparently, I didn't need to pull the plug on Knoxx. Sorry for the panic, just didn't want to lose access to that room, and I thought that area would be blocked off after we beat him. I went through solo after we got off just to check and killed him myself, then I raided his armory. Everything was there, and the timer wasn't running. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that ther must be 100 chests in there!!! In the one trip, I got a Volcano with over 800 damage and a Hellfire with 133 damage but a slower fire rate than ours (so not as good overall). I also got some pretty good shields.

Chew, I know you want to wrap this up before GoW, so lets find some time this weekend to knock it out. I'm good for Sat night or Sun morning. You can host to see if it fixes your "ineligible" status, and if that doesn't work, we'll back out and I can host us against the Crawmerax.

Re: Borderlands

I don't really need to "load up on loot", I just want to finish the game.....assuming we can beat Crawmerax (not holding my breath ). If your hosting just picks us up right after the armory, then I'm fine with that.

I can't do Sunday morning, I have breakfast plans.

Re: Borderlands

I have a friend in town tonight, and he's flying out tomorrow, so you'll probably see me on Borderlands tonight playing splitscreen...since that's what he'll probably want to play. I think his flight is early afternoon tomorrow, so I could probably hop on right after dinner...maybe 5 or 6 PM?

You should definitely host, because I think the problem last night was that I got credit for beating Knoxx and you guys didn't. He's a pretty straightforward kill, so we'll just knock him out again and go for the Crawmerax from there.

Re: Borderlands

Tomorrow night works for me.

Hopefully donuts can join us one last time? Taking on the Crawmerax with 3 sounds a little better.

Re: Borderlands

Good run last night fellas, and huge thanks to donuts for duplicating his hellfire SMG for me!

Crawmerax is just about as bad as I'd imagined, but I never anticipated how annoying that f'ing elevator would be. I think I'm gonna just take a "live and let live" approach with that dude!

I'm putting this one on the shelf for a bit after today and catching up on some other stuff...but I could see me wanting to make another runthrough down the road if somebody wants to play on PS3.

Re: Borderlands

If all final boss situations were like that, I wouldn't finish many (any!) games.

Re: Borderlands

Hey Guys

I need a hand on a older mission that I'm trying to complete but I thank it may be a glitch. I looked and haven't completed the "Dahl: Headland-Assemble the Revolver" (Level 20). The weird thing is I've got all the pieces except the "barrel". This is over in the upper top of the map when you are standing at the vehicle station outside the bar. It's the one with the water tower. I'm standing right where the barrel is showing on the map but it's not there. It's either suppose to be on top of the structure or inside....kinda of like where a vehicle appears.

Those missions don't actually lead you directly to the components. The waypoint is just the general area. It's around and I know the mission you're talking about. If you can't find it, shoot me an invite later tonight if I'm online and I'll help you out.

Spoiler:
It's in the hood of the broken down car on the side of the cliff opposite of the encampment.

That's a bad one in that it's not near where it shows on the map. It's across the path from the vehicle spawing point, in the trunk of a wrecked vehicle.

Re: Borderlands

I created a Siren on the weekend as I didn't have one going yet. Played her until she could buy a shield, then did a split screen game and had her "drag" along (Corvin method?) with my sniper on his 2nd playthrough. Got her up to level 43 this weekend, unfortunately at level 43 she only has a 12 slot backpack, lol.

Re: Borderlands

Finally getting back around to playing this and I'm having a blast. Have a Lvl 24 Hunter.

I do wish that there was more enemy variety. Huge new areas open up and still the same four different guys saying the same things.
