Re: Borderlands

If I host, we'll face tougher enemies, but we'll also get more XP and probably better drops.

Your call.

Re: Borderlands

As long as you haven't gotten too far ahead of where we left off on Monday that I don't miss any quests, you can host.

Re: Borderlands

Got it, and I haven't done anything else in the DLC since Monday night...strictly farming the second playthrough of the game proper. I think my guy is at level 56, so just a couple of levels ahead...and since the host caps the enemies, it should make it more challenging. I'll likely be able to get on a bit before 7, so send me a note if you're on.

Donuts?

Re: Borderlands

I assume it's entirely upon luck, but I haven't come across any new weapons that are better than the ones I've been using for months now. I'm on my second playthrough, done the Zombie Island DLC, barely started the Knoxx DLC, and I don't seem to find any cool new weapons.

Does this eventually happen, or should I be looking at/for something else?

Yeah that sounds good, though there's a chance I may be a bit late.

Considering it's only 5:00 where you are when we get on, that's understandable.

Re: Borderlands

Maybe we can collect brains for a bit to start then.

@ mndtrp, I haven't found a really good weapon in legitimate gameplay in about as long as I can remember. I think every weapon, class mod and even grenade mod I'm carrying came from farming. In some ways, I'm probably ruining the game, and you're doing it right, but I'm just a bit addicted to the weapon-hunt.

If you're on PS3, jump in a game with me sometime and we'll go farming...or maybe I'll give you one of my six Volcano sniper rifles!

Good times last night in Knoxx. The driving started to feel a bit tedious toward the end, but the combat is great. I loved the

Re: Borderlands

This weekend is tough for me, as I have a big credentialing test on Monday, a friend in town from England on Sunday, and a poker game tomorrow night.

How about Monday night?

Re: Borderlands

One of my friends finally picked it up so I finally had a chance to play co-op tonight. I've got a level 25 soldier, but I figured I start a new character with him so I took the Siren and he took the Hunter. 5 hours later we're both level 10.

Though you could tell he's never played the game before. We were both at level 4 and ran into a level 11 Badass Corrosive Skag; I turned and hauled ass out of there while he tried to fight it

Shame you're on the "PS3" though. The other friend i'm playing with mentioned he like to start another character because he's only played one so far. My two main ones, Siren and hunter are at Level 47 and 48. I do have a Beserker and Soldier at late 20's but really haven't done much with them.

I still think having four players play as Besrekers and just go thru beating the crap out of everything would be a blast. Anyway good luck and hope he has fun with it.

Re: Borderlands

I leveled my Siren up to 53 just dragging her along while I farmed.

I found her a Hellfire SMG with a long scope and accuracy in the high 80s, so she's kind of fun to play with now since I maxed just about every perk on the left side. I can almost regenerate her full health and shield with every phasewalk!

I still think my Hunter is more formidable offensively with his shield penetration and sniper upgrades, but she's pretty damn hard to take down.

I love seeing a group of guys bunched up and just running in there and phasing...then picking out one poor confused dude and exploding his head!!!

Re: Borderlands

I found that with two playing the Siren & Hunter combo is awsome. The Siren with her Fire Walk for up close and the Hunter's Birds from a distance is too much. Throw in her with a Hellfire SMG and a Hunter with a powerful Volcanno sniper==WOW

Not that you have to but mind if I send a friend request? By the way I think we're shooting to be on around 7-8 Central tonight. But iIthink we're trying to work on the side missions of Knoxx. We're also thinking about either playing a new character from scratch or starting our second play-thru. He needs both money and better weapons which I told him is plenty with the second play-thru.

Go ahead. I'm still on my first play through though with my Soldier (lvl 21) and Siren (lvl 10).

Thank ya much...yea the guy i'm playing with now got his first taste of three players last week when a friend (Level 60!) jumped in and it was pretty fun except when we did try to take on Mr. BadAss Level61....bad idea but hey....

Up to you also but could give a slight boost by doing a invite to both at new Haven (1st play) to get some decent start out weapons. We use use new haven all the time to get weapons, trade, level up and so-on. great place since it's small and has five weapon boxes. Pretty useless now except on the second playthru (.Hunter)

Actually my Soldier is more of a "cheat" than actual playing. For the heck of it a friend awhile back on his second playthru suggested how fast and how much can we level up a first character. So I had a Soldier at Level 3 and we met a New Haven. I just stayed in the middle of town while he went around nd just shot up everything. In less than two hours I went from a Level 3 to a Level 25 with over 3 million in the bank....all without firing a single shot.

I am trying to convince the friend to get Moxxi as it has the Weapon Bank. A great way to not only collect and store but changing and swapping between characters and friends. I keep some of the special mods and such in case I need it for another character or someone needs it. I still have some early Level weapons also for that reason. In fact my Hunter has a few goodies I need to give to my Siren......but just a thought.

Thanks. I'm not too concerned with the weapons I have, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I usually only play games around 1AM Mountain, so I don't play online very often.

Re: Borderlands

I'm up to 5-6 Hellfires now. It seems like the Siren is more likely to get them from random boxes than my hunter was...which kind of makes sense, but I didn't think the game was that sophisticated.

@ Chew: I still haven't found a better variation than the one we're using though. I've found a couple that were slightly more powerful or accurate, but none have been anywhere near the fire rate.

I was thinking about bringing my Siren into our game just so you could see her in action, but I think it would mess up the continuity since we've made the whole run with our two characters. Maybe down the road, we can do another run with you as the hunter and me as a siren.

Re: Borderlands

I'm finally up to level 54. Beat the second playthrough of the main game and now I will start Knoxx on the second playthrough and try to grind to 61. Really want to beat that stupid crab.

Re: Borderlands

Came across a Chimera revolver during Knoxx yesterday. It was on a post-main-story quest
Spoiler:
for Marcus that actually sent you back to the Armory so you loot all over again. We absolutely love the frantic nature of that. We go in with nothing in our backpacks and just load up without even looking at the details, just the colors.

I gave it to my co-op Hunter buddy because my Siren is just not, nor will neve be, adept at revolver action
