I'll probably download the four demos (in the case of Castle Crashers, re-download) I quoted and pick two from the above since I purchased that card over the weekend.

Question, Magic the Gathering game...can you pick up the game and play it decently without being all deck savvy and never even watched somebody play? Just curious.

Space Ark is today's XBLA release and I have to say I am enjoying it. It's a cross between Breakout and Peggle. There seems to be a ton of levels, 3 different modes (Time attack, survival and story) and local multiplayer. Good stuff..

It will be more difficult if you have never seen or have any idea how to play. The game is built so as you progress you should learn and pick up the strategy and become familiar with decks and such.

If you stick with it its a blast!

You can't spend a better 5 bucks. I own it on PSone, Saturn and its on the PSP disc for Rondo of Blood, but I'm tempted to buy it again and play through one more time.

Interesting. Looks most like a cutsie Arkanoid clone. Major Nelson didn't even mention that game on his blog. Thought it was going to be a release-free week (as has been the case during other mega-sale weeks).

Almost certainly a pass for me (never a huge fan of that type of game and have two Arkanoid clones on PSN already), but I'll check out the demo. Full game is 800 points.

I had no clue it was coming out either. I loved Peggle, as did the wife so as soon as she saw it, it was a buy.

Snagged Castle Crashers and Braid finally.

I don't understand why Braid is part of this sale. Didn't it just get a permanent drop to 800 points a few weeks ago? It's on my want list--hope it doesn't jump back up to 1200 next week.

Picked up Trials last night. Thanks for the advice. Did all tracks on Beg, Easy and most on Med. Bronze medals all the way. I take it you have to replay tracks with faster bikes as you unlock them to get a higher medal score (as well as obviously handling the bike better)? Also was trying for that one achievement on the medium track where you can't change your posture and must have zero faults. Wow, what a b*tch that one will be! At least for my mediocre bike skills.

That one took me a long time to get. I lost count of the tries, but basically you will learn the speed you need for each section and eventually put together a perfect run. That is really the key to the whole game. In the beginning there will be stuff that seems really hard on even the medium tracks, but you run them over and over and you build up your skills. It is a really fun and rewarding game. I didn't think I could every get a gold run on the National Cup or finish all the hard tracks, but eventually it happens.

:lol: That's the Flashback track. I spent like a half an hour trying to get it without changing position -- when I finally completed the course like that, I didn't unlock an Achievement. Only then did I realize that I had completed that course on the Easy track and not on parallel Medium track as was instructed. I was not happy to find that out.

Downloaded and played the demos of Vandal Hearts, Castle Crashers (again), Crystal Defenders, and Magic the Gathering.

Crystal Defenders: I can see why this is a mobile phone game. Ridiculously simple. It's okay, but there just doesn't seem to be enough there for me.

Magic the Gathering: That tutorial couldn't teach me anything. Maybe I'm an idiot, I'm willing to admit I'm a moron but I just don't think I could stick with it.

Castle Crashers: I've downloaded and played the demo twice now. I like it, but I'm not in love with it. I dunno, there is a part of me that wants to get it and a part of me that doesn't feel right about it. Like I would play it for maybe an hour or two and then forget about it.

Vandal Hearts: okay this is more like it. The tutorial was informative and the first few fights were a lot of fun. I love the art, humor and just about everything in this game. Unless I lapse into a coma or have amnesia, I'm getting it :D. It is very much channeling Final Fantasy Tactics. As such, I'm already watching a few auctions for the original PSX titles.

Picked up 'Splosion Man and N+ last night. Enjoyed both, but I can already sense that I'm going to break a controller playing N+.

Also started playing Geometry Wars 2 again. I'm tempted to delete Pixy from my friends list since his high scores are so disgustingly high.

This is a game that I just "don't get". Everyone raves and raves about how great it is. I don't like it at all.

Finally bought Trials HD. Probably not going to be lower than that price for a long long time. Can't wait to finally get to play the whole thing!
