Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
I bought MI2 first thing this morning. Loved the series on the PC and loved the SE of the first one last year. No-brainer for me, especially at the adequate price.
But since I also picked up Puzzle Quest 2 today, it may be a while before I get to it ;) |
Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
I bought Monkey Island 2 without even playing the demo based on the fantastic quality of the first Special Edition. I never played the Monkey Island games back in the day, despite loving the Sierra "Quest" games, so these SEs are right up my alley.

Or I'm just dumber now (which is entirely possible). |

Kinda reminds me of COD4 mixed in with some Rainbow Six but not in a good way.

No Monkey Island love here? :(
And I'm pretty close to buying Puzzle Quest 2, the $15 price tag is the only part I'm having a hard time with (I've only bought 3 $15 XBLA games, PQ1, Shadow Complex and Cellfactor). It's funny, I can buy a whole points card solely for RockBand or Lips related songs but $15 for a downloadable game, I hesitate (but if the game were in a retail form for $20, I wouldn't). It is a very fun game though, I played all the way through the demo and might do it again this weekend. |
Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
I still haven't bought an XBLA game since Shadow Complex and there's not one Summer of Arcade title I'm interested in this year.
All the cool shit has moved over to XBLIG (you just have to sift through mountains of liquid shit to find it, ugh). |

Speaking of which, Avatar Liquid Shit is a pretty good XBLIG entry.

I'll have a full review up in the next few days but DON'T WAIT, go check out Cross Fire from radiangames on XBLIG NOW.
Wait, my review should help sell the game, right? So wait for the review, then buy it. Yes? |
Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Only positive reviews help sell games. It's science.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
This is the first time I've seen or heard of the abbreviation XBLIG and I like it. It's short, looks cool and is actually pronounceable, which is always a plus for anagrams. It sounds far less douchey than "Indie Games", which has an air of pretension. I don't know if Pixy coined the term or not, but let's run with it.

Have you seen this place before? www.Twitter.com So glad Crossfire is finally out. Got to play a bit of it last night and will be picking it up tonight. So well done. |
Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Started a demo game of classic Risk last night, and I was holding strong with North and South America, then the demo expired so I bought it...only to promptly have some jackass AI swoop in from Africa with a 39 troop army thanks to trading in his stars. Goodbye North and South America...Afghanistan, you're my only hope.

If you check out their website, radiangames has temporarily (?) offered the soundtracks to both their games for free.

If any people want to get a game going sometime, let's do it. Do we need a fancy thread like those PS3ers have for scheduling games?
Cool thing about Risk is that even in ranked games, you can search for your friend's game and boot strangers from the lobby. Will make getting those achievements much more fun since ranked doesn't have to be random  |

Speaking of XBLIG series, Arkedo 04 (The Legend of Zelda/Geometry Wars mash-up) seems to be MIA. :( |

For what it's worth, I think I would've paid $3 or more for that Crossfire soundtrack alone. So awesome. |

I'm down for some Risk. Haven't had a successfully completed Live game yet.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
In college I was a Risk junkie, so I may pick this up sometime this week. I'd love to knock out a few games with people if we're forming some sort of cohort.

Doesn't EU have 4 points? I agree that NA is where it's at, 3 points, plus you can expand on those 3 easily.
