X-Play got around to reviewing Scrap Metal on their show today, for those who played the demo and were wondering if it gets any better *SPOILER ALERT* It doesn't

So I did purchase Centipede & Crystal Castles off Gameroom along with the mascot for Crystal Castles. Got a few medals, got an okay score in Centipede (silver medal woot!). I like the concept, honestly I do...but they need a lot more games. I can't fancy myself buying anything outside maybe one more of the current crop.

I've tried a handful of the Game Room games and can't see spending a single point on the Atari or Intellivision stuff. They're not awful games, but $3 is insane, considering I can buy the physical cartridges for $0.50 to a $1 locally, and I still have my Atari.

The actual arcade games are mostly cool, but $3 still seems about two times too much.

Especially in a game like B-17 Bomber where those were mostly for moving to the different turret positions.

That brings back some memories. How cool was it to have a game that talked!

You know they're releasing 7 new games each Thursday, right?

Thinking about the game room themes there seems to be some missing that I was fond of.

Chuck E Cheese / Pizzeria type theme
Fast Fare / 7/11 / convenience store type theme.

Really good times hanging out in these places and blowing .25s.

No, I was not aware of that :D. Thank you for the info. So...are they going to do like a new pack each week (like we have two now) to d/l or what exactly? If I end up only wanting 1 game out of the 7 every week, that could put a strain on my hd.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

That's my understanding. I actually asked a question to the official twitter account about that yesterday but didn't hear anything back.

I would like to know what exactly each "Game Pack ###" contains (roms, themes, mascots, whatever) so I can know what is safe to not download or delete when I don't care any more.

I wonder how visiting someone's arcade that has Game X from Pack Y in their arcade, but you don't have Pack Y locally to load the assets?

There's a lot of questions out there.

Q. What are the avatar attire awards and how do I earn them?

A. Avatar attire awards are items you can earn to customize your Xbox Live avatar. After you unlock all of the cards in 3 decks you earn a Planeswalker T-shirt. After you unlock all of the cards in 6 decks you earn a Magic: The Gathering deck for your avatar.
 A M:TG prop deck? I'm so in!

I hope you're talking about quarters. Otherwise I'm really not keeping up with today's modern slang. ;)

Also, I just wanted to note that the Game Room challenge system is actually a brilliant marketing move on Microsoft's part. If you're on the fence for buying a game, receiving a challenge for it might just be enough to sway you, especially if you're competitive and lack good money management skills. Unfortunately I seem to fall into that camp.

I just finished the original game recently and still only showing about 90% complete. Do you have to complete the co-op to 100%?

I was on the fence about getting the 1st expansion but now that there is another one coming I will probably go all in.

Hmm will the game room ever have games like Spider Man, Captain Commando, The Simpsons or X-Men? 4 players on live would be great.

I forgot about Captain America and the Avengers. Is the game room only for retro games?

I dare you to send me a dollar. Pinata already sent me 75 cents...

Demoed most of the games last night, and really didn't find one that I absolutely needed to have. :( And even though Pinata spammed me, I visited his arcade and demoed more shit there.

I know the vast majority of you don't give half-a-shit about Penny Arcade or the games, but there isn't going to be any more episodes in the PA Adventures series. They'll finish the story on the website. Shame because I actually enjoyed the first two.

We can only hope, we can only hope. I would honestly shit a brick for 6 player X-Men.

That is a shame. It was a pretty decent duo of games. It was certainly unique, which is always welcomed.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

X-Men and Simpsons have been clamored for for years. I still wonder about the overlap between original Roms on Game Room versus XBLA remakes.

Hell, in just a few short weeks we're going to see the XBLA double-billing of Final Fight and Magic Sword. While it doesn't necessarily preclude either or both of those titles from showing up eventually in Game Room, we know the XBLA versions will be more robust. I'm not even sure if online multiplayer is possible through Game Room. If not, there's no way it'll be the proper venue for something like 6-player X-Men, especially since the 360 only supports 4 controllers at once.

I'm not sure what all goes into 100%. Definitely you need to unlock all the cards in the decks to do that. As they release expansions, the number of cards in each deck goes up making it harder to get 100%. I'm not sure if they count that or just the base game's original 100%, sans DLC

Completing puzzles/challenges and the co-op campaign net you achievements and they're fun, so you might as well.
