Ooh, I didn't realize that one was only a week away. It seemed so far away last time I saw news on it.

I'm excited to see Shadow Complex since it's the last of the Summer Arcade promo. I'm ready to see if Serious Sam or Bubble Bobble are going to follow it up.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
I'm so geeked for Shadow Complex that I read the Orson Scott Card novel that it's kind of based around to get some more background on it.
EDIT: Speaking of which: Orson Scott Card talks 'Shadow Complex' and the future of 'Empire' Spoiler:
(And I still say it's gonna need it's own thread.) |

Yeah, it's going to be super-hard, but at least it feels do-able on the lower difficulties. On the PC with their lack of analog controls, I struggled to get through the freaking tutorial! -eek-
I don't like that you can only get tracks from people on your friends list though. I know there are going to be some masters out there with tracks, and I hope they're made available to all eventually. Or maybe I'm not seeing something that allows me to download other's tracks. |

Yeah, it's hard, but do-able, and when I make a mistake it's always my fault and not the game's which minimizes frustration.

Having spent an hour or two with it, Trials is definitely my next Geometry Wars/Pacman: CE. I can see the challenges providing hours of "fun" when I get tired of the tracks themselves. Rings of Flames is so addictive.

FYI from Twisted Pixel (via Twitter) about the 'Splosion Man avatar rewards....
To all who've been asking, just got word: thru no fault of our own, Splosion Man Avatar update has been delayed. Thanks for your patience! |

That might be underplaying things a bit. Splosion Man really makes you feel that mistakes are your fault alone -- this game you're still a hostage to their floaty physics which is sometimes hard to predict. Sometimes you do a perfect backflip and other times you'll knock your rider's head off on the ramp. Still, getting a clean run down the track is truly a thrilling experience.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Trials is awesome. I just spent most of the late afternoon and evening playing it. Lots more bells and whistles than the PC version, and a much better difficulty ramp-up. The PC version was super tricky almost right off the bat. The XBLA version eases you in a little better. A couple of the achievements are pretty clever, too. I figured out one which had a fairly cryptic description, and it was really satisfying. There's another vague one that I didn't get yet but I think I know how to get it.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
Oh, and apparently there's a new episode included in DooM II:
A whole new episode will be included, along with all of Doom 2's original content. Four-player split-screen multiplayer will be available in addition to online play. |
