I wasn't around for the summer of arcade, do they do special offers every week or is it just advertising for XBLA?

Every week there is a different "Deal of the Week" for Gold XBL Members. I typically update the first post in this thread with the relevant deals, but I was lazy this week for the 3 fighting games.

XBLM Deal of the week:

Indeed a great game, but the second week in a row that they've put a game on sale that was just on sale at the end of December. Is it too much to ask that they at least start discounting some new games I already own?

Just to note one issue I ran into with Battlefield 1943. EA apparently cut the servers way back on it now and there will be times especially on the weekends where you just can't connect to a game or if you do the lag is so bad you have to quit out.

I've played 40 matches since buying it during the last sale and run into this a dozen times. There are threads on the official BF1943 forums complaining, but so far nothing seems to have been done. I tried changing router settings and so on, but to me it is a pure traffic issue and rarely happens if you play at times that are slower and less people are on.

So, for the new Gameroom experience thing where it costs a couple extra bucks for "PC" does that mean potentially that those games would be playable on the new Win7 phones?

That'd be pretty effin' sweet if so.

Apparently, there will be a deal if you buy all the House Party games (Toy Soldiers - 1200 points, Scrap Metal - 1200 points, Perfect Dark - 800 points and Game Room - Free for the room 240 points per game) where you'll get 400 points back and (maybe) a free month of Gold Live (at least in the UK). Still trying to figure out all the details (like if you need to actually buy a game in the Game Room), but it's potentially a semi-good deal if Scrap Metal and Toy Soldiers actually turn out to be good.

Toy Soldiers looks terrible.

Yeah, if you want to suddenly wake up one day and have no access to your content. I know you'll be able to re-download these if your hard drive goes boom, but it still stinks. At least if I break my disc, it's my own darn fault
